Unlike other calculators and oracles, the G25 always tends to add a proximity or a "Ligurian" component to me, while in the combos the recurring "ingredients" become Lombardy and Greece

Mine: I suppose that since there are no samples from Emilia and Romagna, the results are a little more unusual and work with more atypical averages and combos

I'm from Romagna and Ferrara.
Regarding our similarity with the Szolad specimens, I will die with the doubt of knowing if they were individuals of mixed roots (Lombards / Germans +...
The subject is fascinating, but also tremendously complicated and I'm no expert.
Often in order to understand and review that historical period, I see this short animation, imo really well done :)

Maybe some J's really made it up in the Balkans in the Ottoman era.
Defining it then as "Ottoman" / "Turkish" could be difficult since above all the J2 is in some way "indigenous" to the pre-Turkish...

@Archetype0ne,
clearly even the Sardinians have not remained untouched by introgressions, there has been a Roman contribution and even before that they are also reached by Middle Eastern...
For what very little I know, I believe that the only 2 samples that can be traced back to the Hittites for now (or a Hittite context between the 19th and 16th centuries BC) are MA2200 and and MA2203...
Hi Archetype0ne,
unfortunately when I took my test with 23andMe nearly 10 years ago, it didn't return any subclades to me. A laconic J-M172 remains on my file. I have never booked any other test...
Beyond the fact that some reconstructions may be questionable and made with some bias too much in mind, you must still consider that those portrayed are warriors in the middle of the Iron Age, when...

I'm not an expert in these matters either, but IMO - for both historical and genetic reasons - the hypothesis of an introgression of ancient Caucasian/Iranian groups onto a broad Levantine substratum...

Very trivially: people superficially look at where Albania is geographically located, and since it's so close to Puglia they think their respective peoples also occupy similar genetic positions. But...

This makes sense. Certainly the combo of your Ligurian/Northwestern and Central Italian origins is something that can "simulate" a "Tuscan" position in some oracles.
I don't feel like ruling...
