This was all discussed in an older thread here: https://www.eupedia.com/forum/threads/basques-repopulated-spain-during-the-reconquista.42292/
But in terms of sources:

Well that would be a plausible case for eastern and central parts of the peninsula. However, for the rest of the peninsula including western iberia there was little to no basque influence at all. That is probably why today there are distinct genetic clusters from west iberia to east iberia.
It is too bad we can’t get samples from north west iberia in this period as it would help explain whether it was found that nafri genetics were found as far as Galicia. If not, then Islamic era migrations of nafri-infused populations most have moved north during that time to explain higher...
It'll be interesting to see these new Bronze Age samples and how they score! Btw I didn't want to sound like my comment was towards you. Not at all, I should have used less assertive language. I agree that the skeptics typical neglect these recent results including Olalde's interpretations...
To be direct, I've asserted that Portugal and West Iberia form a distinct genetic cluster, a conclusion not solely attributable to Moorish rule. In fact, it seems increasingly evident that significant change during the Moorish period was minimal; however, if new evidence were to suggest...
It depends on the calculator and whether it includes Anatolian farmers and yamnaya (or other steppe sources). If a calculator, for example, omits the Steppe component your HG percentage will rapidly inflate the way you see in some calculators. If the Anatolian farmer component is omitted, the...
Well it gets to that. I’m talking way before the reconquista. I’m talking about the migratory infusion of Bell Beaker culture people carrying our subclades. I don’t necessarily think they didn’t exist among the more ancient south Iberians and were naturally infused into modern times. Since every...
Well said. In my family’s case, an Indo-European derived paternal lineage and a European Farmer maternal lineage (maybe Globular). We all have similar quantities of different admixture sources. My case seems like I have some more non-european influences than maybe some other Portuguese, but it...
There is a tendency to assume that R1b and other similar clades have spread in recent times solely from the far north fringes to the south (Reconquista). Still, I can't see why they couldn't have expanded naturally with bell-beakers and what later became Celticized tribes. The peninsula is...
Sure. In my case I am not 100% Portuguese on either commercial test. These tests aren't nearly as interesting or in-depth as G25 or qpAdm.
Nonetheless here you go:
Italians suffer the same fate as Iberians in both genetic spaces and places like Quora when it comes to being European. There is always an obsession regarding their north African and other MENA influences. And then on the other end the opposite, obsession (usually by the people of those nations)...
