Anatolian Hypothesis: Lord Renfrew still a partial holdout

Correct, especially considering the fact that the Hunters and Gatherers in the Balkans have a genetic profile that looks somewhere inbetween WHG and EHG. So what we see here as "Steppe" ancestry could very well be Balkan H&G ancestry dripping into a Farmer population (Minoans) from the west...

Politics Catalonia may become an independent nation soon...

Hia name is spelled Barzani not Bashrani. Turkey, Iran, Iraq, threatned to attack if they do the referendum he gone the way. Do you think he risked this all just for negotiations? He gives the Iraqi central government a chance to give an alternative (as I said a Schottland type model) but he...

Politics Catalonia may become an independent nation soon...

It seems you didn't get my post. The central government uses the Barcelona case to bring up fear in some voters. All I say is they would never force Barcelona out of the league, if they did so they would lose allot of money. Also I already stated 2-3 times in this thread that I am for a free...

Politics Catalonia may become an independent nation soon...

Do you really believe Catalan teams would be thrown out of La Liga by case of segregation. I mean La Liga (the State) makes around half a billion just from the El Classico. La Liga without Barcelona would lose 30-40% of it's viewers and sponsors. It would hurt both sides and I am pretty sure...

Politics Catalonia may become an independent nation soon...

Would be nice if you did the same with Kurds. Back to topic I gave my support for a Catalan country already in the past. If that isn't possible at least a British Wales-England relationship should be given.

If you are really Iberian, there is absolutely no way this are your results. Your farmer ancestry is on level with that of Northern Europeans. So with goodwill the West European Farmer ancestry is 35%. Far too low for an Iberian. You have more Karasuk-Scythian than the Jatt user here who is...

Genetic Origins of Minoans and Mycenaeans

If you believe all the R1a lineages in Greece are Slav derived you must be insane. Also as you noted out yourself. They have 1/4 Slav related yDNA. Related and derived are not the same thing. Schoolboy mistakes. Z93 is more Indo_Iranian related. But even z283 (z282) is not Slav exclusive. Who...

Genetic Origins of Minoans and Mycenaeans

He is registered here. And I had Polako invited on his blog to a civil discussion here, because I felt like it was easier to have a fair discussion on neutral ground, which he didn't respond to. He is very good at using tools for genetic data, which I am not taking away from him. Respect should...

Genetic Origins of Minoans and Mycenaeans

Interesting that Northeast Europeans get more extra Iran_Neo/CHG than other. There seems to be something ancient going on? Or might it be Indo_Iranian like ancestry hiding?

Genetic Origins of Minoans and Mycenaeans

Yep that is what Angela and I were trying to explan for quite some time and told people to be cautios with some calculators and other methods, because they can be manipulated depending on what the maker tries to prove. The results aren't necessary wrong but the conclusions ARE. It's called...

Genetic Origins of Minoans and Mycenaeans

Even more interesting that this little "foreign" admixture came via the North in Greek case while some Aryan Nordic ubermenschen theories claimed that they became "darker" due to Arab admixture comparing ancient Greeks to North Europeans aka the Brad Pitt type. And in Egyptian case the little...

The East African didn't disappear because it is indeed Natufian related DNA in East Africans. As written previously the calculator tries to model people as a mix of post early Neolithic populations. The East African component in this calculator is actually of modern samples as it is written by...

Gedrosia K12 had flaws with ancient samples. Kurd even mentioned that and it had been mentioned here several times too. It is impossible that a Yamnaya sample is 90% EHG even with variation. the samples were in variation between 40-60% EHG.

I think what he is trying to do here, is measure ancestry based on post early Neolithic genomes. Means how we show up as a mix of populations that emerged from middle Neolithic to Bronze Age. WHat he labeled here as Iran_CHL/CHG is actually Iran_CHL/CHG admixture that can not be explained via...

I see "East European" farmers are basically another wave of those earliest farmers that left Anatolia for Greece, the Balkans and northern Black Sea (CT culture).

True, I have to correct myself. After seeing the datings. It seems those are Middle Neolithic samples. Those were indeed up to 15-25% admixed with WHG. Basically the main source of Basques and Sardinians. There seems to have come very little addition to these two populations after the middle...

eh not really Western European Farmers are basically EEF from Central Europe to Iberia. Those were not really a "mix" of WHG- EEF but almost completely Anatolian_NEO with some WHG admixture (3-10%).
