    I believe it's not a accurate to compare the two subclades. For one the main North African and Arabian samples have a TMRCA of approximately 2800, which isn't shallow relative to the subclade (E-Y182141) which is also 2800, FTDNA TMRCAs different slightly but I find yfull more reliable...

    it is not the Varna branch if you are referring to E-Y182141, as far as I know there is no ancient DNA upstream to this branch. Interestingly it is as successful as it was a few years ago, when it had 0 samples, showing that you never really know when a new branch will appear.

    I have also just noticed a Russian sample in the Kursk DNA project which appears to be CTS1975 positive and negative to V13. It appears closest to samples under E-FT169236 but not close enough to guarantee a close relation, though the region similarity could suggest so.

    It's unusual because at first family tree showed it as a separate third branch even saying the descendents of E-M35 are E-V68, E-Z827, and 1 unnamed lineage. I thought that before including these in the discovery tree they would ensure a full big y analysis.

    Yes sadly all relevant regions here (practically all of North Africa and the Middle East) have very few ancient samples. It is still possible though that cousin branches expanded into North Africa and went extinct before E-M81.
