    Best Autosomal Genetics Test?

I get where you're coming from. According to my tests I seem to be very closely related to Hungarians, Austrians, and Romanians. Even though these people aren't Slavic or South Slavic. Although it's been discussed on this forum before, I've always firmly believed South Slavs are still in large...

    Balkans and Neolithic Farmers

That was an interesting read. I think I could comprehend most of it. So Western Yugoslavs are closer to Hungarians/Northern Slavs. Eastern Balkans (Bulgarians, Also Romanians) are closer to Turks or Greeks(?) I might now have understood this one too well. Serbs/Montenegrins seem to be a...

    Balkans and Neolithic Farmers

Hello everyone, I've recently been watching some guys historical videos on YouTube. He claims haplogroups aren't a good way to determine a persons/peoples actual ancestry/heritage and that one must use autosomal genetics. I never knew this beforehand. Anyways, he seems to possess a lot of...

    Haplogroup I in the Mesolithic

So most of my interest in haplogroups came from recorded history, the Slavs etc. Lately I've been reading into its further origins. According to Eupedia, I2 was the most common haplogroup in Europe up to the end of the Mesolithic? Is this true? I've seen a few sites saying otherwise or mixed...

How did I2a-Din get to the Balkans?

Hey that's something I read at some point by some historian. There are links to old Croats and Antes historically, as well as Sclavenians.

How did I2a-Din get to the Balkans?

I find it amusing how often White Croatia is mentioned by historians. I thought it was more a mythical state? I've also read that most South Slavs were probably settlers from many small tribes that scattered across the Balkans, and that "Croats" and "Serbs" emerged from among these many tribes...

How did I2a-Din get to the Balkans?

@Miroslav So from what I understand, you're saying I2 didn't arrive with Croats and Serbs? Then who did it arrive with?

    Could I2a have been Scythian?

That is all true. Even the sycthian samples rated to me were from Ukraine, Moldova and Bulgaria. Must have just been mixing with natives. Though according to what I've learned we're all VERY mixed.

    Could I2a have been Scythian?

So not too long ago I got tested on 23 and Me, then later went to Gedmatch and mytrueancestry. Mytrueancestry compares your results to that of samples from bones found in ancient cultures burial sites/archeological sites. I was surprised to find my closest matches were to Scythians and Romans...
