    Thracian metalworking/gold artisanship is very advanced for sure. We don't have any any material culture remnants of the Pelasgians or of the Greek migration per se. Until we do the ancient authors theory about the Greeks invading is just that, a theory.

    Yeah, mention of EV13 without any EV13 samples of Ancient Greeks threw me for a loop. Was EV13 native to Greece (possibly among the non-elite or the Pelasgians), did it come after the LBA population collapse, medieval/post medieval incursion by Albanians/Vlachs? Lots of questions.

    I don't know if it has been mentioned before in this thread but a lot of Slavs that became muslims during the Ottoman Empire's occupation of the Balkans have R1a Y-DNA. Plus of course all the R1a subclades from the Central Asia area.

    The only other option, other than the models are faulty is that the R1a and I2a haplogroup people were very close genetically to the classical steppe people.
