Congratulations on the result. The haplogroup immediately upstream of yours has an area of uncertainty of origin concentrated in Central-Western Europe. Maybe when more testers do the Big Y, someone may appear to keep you company in your subclade or in a subclade further downstream.

Your 4th great grandfather reminds me the Belgium King Leopold II. The wearing of long, well-groomed beards in Europe at that time was a characteristic of European patriarchs at the time. Your great-great-grandfather was a very elegant man. I emphasize that your great-great-grandfather only...

I believe that the Living DNA algorithm, by not isolating my SSA ancestry as a legitimate component that it is, dilutes that component with others from West Eurasia and creates the MENA fiction in my recent ancestry and eliminates all SSA from my autosomal results. In doing so, it reduces the...

Personally I prefer the “Iberian + SSA” combination, which is more in line with the ancestry of a colonial Portuguese. I think the combination “Iberian + MENA”, in my specific case, is a bit fake: It’s this fake combination of Iberian + MENA that I get in “Living DNA”.
