Wacky news Central balkanic democracy

As I Greek I am really happy for this agreement, that puts finally a full stop to this dispute that started as early as 1991. 27 years we play with names, it had to come to an end. The identity issue and their claim to call themselves Macedonians, is an irrefutable right of them and is...

Politics Catalonia may become an independent nation soon...

Some more years in jail because of pocketing peoples money. Big money. I am opposing the Spanish government too. Not a Rajoy fan, definitely not. I say it out loud, if you like. No, the alternative is to agree with each other first, and not to provoke it. Half of the people and half of the...

Politics Catalonia may become an independent nation soon...

I've read extensive stuff about Andorra and the eager will for... independence after that. a) The referendum was illegal and shouldn't have taken place. It's not so easy in a democratic constitutional country to break such laws. It's not funny, actually it's very very serious and IMO whoever...

Politics Catalonia may become an independent nation soon...

Democracy is power of the people. This referendum, though, was far from any modern democratic procedure, was more like parody. No need to mention why. As for the police brutalities, please go back and read again what I wrote. Btw there is no "Independence" for Austria. Breaking up from...

Politics Catalonia may become an independent nation soon...

What you did is a personal insult, but I am not willing to discuss it further. Looks that I have somebody very angry, aggressive and with no clear mind opposite me, so I think it's not worthy to continue. I made my points clear, yours look kind of blurry in my opinion. I could take each and...

Politics Catalonia may become an independent nation soon...

Some days ago, I posted that on FB (I mention that just in case you think that I am referring to you; I am not): "To all who support the Catalan referendum: - You know guys that you stand for some Nationalists who don't recognize their country's Constitution, right? - You know that you give...

Putting an end to Greek/Albanian feuds

Thanks LAB for giving me a second big laugh for today. (I still look forward for the time that some ultranationalist greek step in here and finally start this war flame with you. This thing that you ask for everytime. The lower the level, the bigger the pop corn bag :D ) Sent from my Robin...

Putting an end to Greek/Albanian feuds

Of course. Students, don't only have the right, but actually should be taught every aspect especially when it comes to controversial subjects. What is so... funny and... unbelievable? You live in the western world, right? As for the bold, MEGA-LOL. Dude, almost pissed my pants! :D

Putting an end to Greek/Albanian feuds

If not bullying, then for sure close. If not a humiliation attempt, then for sure close. ] Hmmm, let me think. Actually yes, bullying it is. *coughs* No, you said much more than that.
It's not "official Greece", it's just one academic. Try to figure...

Putting an end to Greek/Albanian feuds

I have been following you from the beginning of this (one more, God...) totally meaningless flame war. It's very funny, though, to call people "nationalists" and to put yourself out of this bag. You obviously belong there. How come that somebody who OPENLY CLAIMS foreign territory, as you...

Could be some shared Neolithic ancestry as well. In any case looks really mislabeled and problematic. Sent from my Robin using Tapatalk

Nobody can know for sure, when we talk about such deep ancestry, but it would be really illogical for all this Greek population of Asia Minor and Cyprus to be descendants of the Romans, because they score really high Italian and at the same time not at all or very tiny percentages of Balkan...

I am Cappadocian Greek and I score 36% Italian. Of course no Roman ancestry in my case (and many other Anatolian Greeks who tend to score really high Italian). Cypriots score also high Italian. Sent from my Robin using Tapatalk

Yes. And they obviously have more "italian-like" ancestry, because 23andme clients from Italy, are usually American-Italians with roots from the South/Sicily. This Balkan cluster is really problematic there.

Aegean Islanders + Cretans and Anatolian Greeks (mostly the non-Pontic ones) score really high "italian" on 23andme. The pattern is: the bigger the MENA they show, the higher the "italian". If they look more "italian" (the Aegean Islanders), I would not say so. Here are 3 famous Aegeans:

Your are right, I messed it up. You said "Homer", I got it as "Troyan War" (for some reason... ). Sent from my Robin

Even back then, the Greek settlers most likely were genetically similar to the locals, so the drift was minor. * Greek colonisation period was a dozen centuries after Homer's time :) Sent from my Robin
