I don't understand --- if we can only detect family relations out to 4-5th cousins --- how can true-ancestry claim to detect it so far back? Isn't it more just a case of "you have roughly same ethnicity-make-up as this ancient person"
I think the paid advertisement is a really big problem in health genetics. I did like about impute.me that they actually publish scientific papers where they try to quantify the quality of what they do themselves, I found one paper like that just recently...
