What music are you listening to?

Does "Queen" classify as old too? Well, I still listen to them when exercising (ugh!)

I'd say that if Jefferson Airplane are Paleolithic, Queen would be Mesolithic. So only somewhat old to me but ancient to Generation Y. And I'm too old to want to exercise to "We Will Rock You". But "Another One Bites The Dust" - there are times when I can relate to that one.

If you take a look at this video I think you'll see that Queen does indeed attract a younger audience.

How lovely. I played it this morning. I'm going to be downloading it onto my Ipod and phone.:)

Do you like Renaissance lute music? This English song is very nice.

I surely do Angela. That is a very nice piece of Music thanks. I go through phases with Lute, pipe organ (love the dramatic sound), violin and guitar. Strangely enough I am not too keen on piano and I can take some doses of Saxophone (as in soft Jazz).

So many things going on at present I am very much in this mood (since we are in Queen mood). I think this song brings out the unique vocal abilities of Farouk Bulsara much better known as Freddie Mercury - The show must go on :).....one of my favorite too.

A tribute to Demise Roussos who passed away recently. A voice that stirs up so many childhood memories. This is my favourite one that used to be played over and over again.

I like couple of his songs. Now he's gone. He wasn't really that old, 68. Sad.

Excellent choice Maleth, one of my favourites. It is really hard to break free of Lully once you begin listening..well for me anyway.

Thanks hope, its indeed addictive, Since you posted the first piece, I have been listening to it often. Mostly early in the morning, good start for the day ......one of my favorites now...........must be something about the tempo, seems to fit in nicely with my brain frequency and a good fix if they are out of whack

I thought Marianne Faithful did a cover of this Aberdeen, I must be wrong because I can`t find it. This is the best version anyway...:)

No, I don't think so. Marianne Faithful did covers of songs by Chuck Berry, John Lennon, Bob Dylan and Donovan, but no Airplane AFAIK. Too bad. She's the only person other than Grace Slick who I'd like to hear singing White Rabbit.

I don`t know how I came to think Marianne Faithful did a version of this.. The thing about M.Faithful, in my opinion, is that she didn`t`so much have a great voice but seemed to choose material that played with her voice perfectly, at least in later years. With that in mind, I agree she probably would have made a good version of W.R. Saying that, I think it would be hard to better Slicks own version..:)

I agree that nobody will ever do White Rabbit better than Crazy Gracie but I was picturing Marianne Faithful doing a mashup of White Rabbit and Sister Morphine.

I've been on a road trip south, so a lot of "Country" on the airwaves. I usually like the older stuff more, but Faith Hill and Tim McGraw aren't bad...

I like this one by Tim McGraw too:
