Eurovision 2015....and more

Australia taking part this year? That is something really new. Maybe we see Canada next year? I mean Celine Dione already won it for them in 1988.....in the name of Switzerland of course :). I guess because of the interest it generates and the majority of the population is related mostly to European countries. Im not too familiar with the demographics but it seems like it.

What Happened?

Italy is back in Eurovision?

Well personally I voted Lordi in the past, and I enjoy it much,

this year I might vote 'Punks not dead' you can guess who

Although I believe that Ukraine or Hungary might win,

?????

What Happened?

Italy is back in Eurovision?

Its been back since the last three years 4 years, 5 with 2015 included.

Thanks Maleth...since Italy didn't compete for years I didn't keep up with it much. I'm more of a San Remo girl. :) That's not to say that I like most of the offerings there, either.

Well the Eurovision is a San Remo creation :). I am still sussing out all the songs, and I think im getting close to a favourite. My favourites do not mean much as they usually never win haha.

From what I can see on the comments, people think the voting is usually for allied or neighboring countries. Is that true? That would be a shame.

Favourite ballad:- Russia - Million voices (of course they have to be very careful not to get two men together in video because they will get arrested for promoting homosexuality according to Putin's gay propoganda laws :rolleyes::rolleyes:.... but two women is ok, will not end you up in jail. Great song never the less.

Favourite Dance:- Sweden - Heroes

Most talented:- Italy - Grande Amore

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1f6o1HQBvg

Most refreshing:- UK - Still in love with you

Over all favourite:- Belgium

Yes its very obvious neighbors vote for each other, most obvious are Spain and Portugal, Greece and Cyprus, Scandinavian countries and believe it or not BALKAN countries like ALBANIA GIVING 12 POINTS TO SERBIA  But in all fairness the best songs always do prevail. Another thing is the general taste for a particular genre of music is different in all regions, so there are always a couple that seem to go down well across the board.

yeah

the 4 12 points of Scans
the 5 12 of ex-Yugoslavia
and the 6-9 of ex-Ussr

!!!!!!

and strangely at most countries, half points are by people votes, 1 E in Greece
and other Half from a comittee!!!!!!!!!
no it is strange,
since the year with the lowest comittees and max of voting
the most free Eurovision, was won, by who?
BY THE PEOPLE, and not by the 'comittee'

Athens 2006 The most Free Eurovision, with less comittee votes, what Europeans hear that year,
away from Woman legs and t***, and pretty boys with slim characteristics

Next year Eurovision officers forced a non rock-metal policy, and most countries votes were 50% by a 'comittee'
isn't that strange?
but after realize and start to open mind,
and allowed the Austrain to finals, even win!!!
that is why I will vote Finland this year again!!!!
Punks not dead

Not sure what you mean.....but I have a feeling you are right?

Lordi song was a good one (except for the masks). I think it was much better then this years, although it might get a good number of 'sympathy' votes (so to speak)

yes Lordi song was good,
but poor as metal, design for Eurovision,
this year Finland song is the first Punk song ever been in Eurovision,
but Punk musigue runs for more than 2 decades Europe, and eveb travel to USA,
so even if late, I believe a Punk song must win once,
and offcourse not British
since both movements start from there, but never went to a Eurovision contest, with that flag.
although in Britain, and generally in Europe, climb the charts and even broke the limits sometimes,

Disco music had its best in Eurovision, especially with 1979 Germany,
It was like a boney M at their best, and even better

I used to enjoy some punk, sex pistols were ok but Adam and the ants were my favourite punk group. It would not be my choice, but if Lordi were able to win, I have no doubt that a punk song can do it too. Eurovision is quite unpredictable these days and has become 'bi polar'. I think its good.

All I got out of these last bits is that Yetos doesn't want to look at women's legs and pretty boys singing.

Speak for yourself, Yetos.:) I'm sure plenty of people want to look at both...heck, even I like to look at pretty boys singing...it's better than looking at ugly boys singing.

Ed. Sorry, just good humored teasing. No insult intended.

oups I got caught!!!!
Yes I like monsters!!!!!!

it is a show, ok, a show must satisfy both, eyes and hears,
nice t*ts is a good view,
but is a song contest, not a show contest, so it must please my ears, not my eyes,
anyway, many times in Eurovision the stylistic costumes were such .... that many cabaret women would envy
or the dancers had such muscles, that Arnold Schwarzenegger would fenvy.

anyway Russia has a fantastic song,
