Deaf or Blind?

that's a hard choice, but i would choose to be blind instead of deaf. i couldn't stand not being able to hear my family and friends tell me that they love me. people come to me for advice. if i could not hear the tones in their voices, how could i know how to help them? if i couldn't hear, then my speach would also be impaired. the world wouldn't understand my thoughts or opinions. i also know that even i judge people too much by appearances. if could not see that, then i could not judge that. Eyes are the door to the heart, but voices are the door to the soul.

Makes you wonder how he understood the music doesn't it?

If he never had hearing, he couldn't possibly know what his work sounded like, and yet somehow he was able to cenceptualize and write peices that actually appealed to our sense of hearing.

You might expect something strange and different, but if you weren't told, you'd never know he was deaf.

How did he percieve music?

As vibrations?

As a mathematical concept existing only in the mind?

As something we can't even comprehend?

What I wouldn't give for just five minutes inside that man's head...
