PISA exams, tests of academic proficiency given in 57 countries

I doubt that the figures have changed much since...
 
I don't think it is very representative. It only tells us which country has an education system that prepares well for this test. There is a world of difference between passing a science exam and being able to use one's knowledge creatively to develop new products.

Unfortunately there is no score for foreign languages, geography, history, and so on.
