Does the future of the Euro depend on Spain's management of their economy. With talk of Portugal, Spain and Ireland next in the firing line it seems that Spain is now the key player.

The markets are unconvinced by the EU and IMF rescue plans. Article

Zapatero this week outlined Spain own austerity measures. Article

How much has America played in creating instability in th eurozone?

"The value of the euro was not helped by comments made late on Thursday by Paul Volcker, a special adviser to President Obama.
Speaking in London, he warned of the "potential disintegration" of the euro. "Clearly, I think we have to say that the euro failed and fell into a trap that was evident at the beginning," said Mr Volcker" Source

A nice try by the german banks on speculating with the spanish debt. Time puts everyone in its right place.

Nice photoshop aldao, but my 6-years-old sister could have made one better within a second. No offense.

It's obvious that the US government would want to bash the euro and spread rumours of disintegration of the euro zone. They still see it as a threat to their own currency, especially since the dollar has fallen so low because euro has become a reliable substitute to the dollar for investors around the world (individuals, corporations and governments alike) and many people just choose to sell their dollars as a political statement to show their disagreement with US foreign policy. This is partly why the USD has been stagnating at record low levels since the beginning of the Iraq War in 2003. The dollar has gone back up after Obama's election, but faltered again as reforms lagged behind.

Far from it. The US and its economy shakes and catches fever every time there is a bad news from Eurozone. If not the bad news from Europe, that could potentially cause double dip, investors would open pockets and US would be much better, same with Canada.
On top of it US government wants a weak Dollar and inflation to easier pay the huge debts and lower the deficit, and start kick economy increasing export lowering production costs.
Believe me, Obama prays every night that Eurozone survives!
World economies are too intertwine to wish bad the other and not get hurt.

spain and portugal should be kicked out of the UE before they lead the whole continent to the bankruptcy. the iberians are lazy, stinky and corrupted. the faster the europeans realize that the better.

Zapatero has only been political, has never developed another type of work, living in your fantasy world created alinaza of civilizations and sinking to Spain to ridiculous measures. Spain has invested in the pyramid, politicians do not work for the Spanish, the Spanish who are working for the parasitic caste.

Spain needs a profound change at all levels, and we will succeed in leaving the government ZP.

with or without zapatero nothing is gonna change. spain is a fascist country, the pillars of its society are completely rottens.

Spain is a democratic country, the output of naive Zapatero government will open a new way to Spain, Zapatero's policies are improvised on the spot and he only has used international relations to get in the shot and sold to the Spanish voters , is one of the worst presidents who had the Spanish democracy. And I think Spain will change, as have other European countries, only a matter of time and willingness to change in Spain.

Before the who global economic crash Spain had some of the highest growth in Europe, surely it can't all be economically bad in Spain?

Zapatero is committed to spend or rather waste what others have reaped. I found this list on the internet that expresses very well as is the policy of Zapatero, who will probably go down in history as the deluded Zapatero.

1 .- To promote the alliance of civilizations (???!) those who do not want to team up with us just the opposite.
2 .- Do not cut taxes but raise them ...
3 .- To increase the public deficit to levels that hinder the future of our grandchildren ...
4 .- Failure to reform the labor market. The most rigid in Europe
5 .- Giving 8,000 mm in a Plan E has not been for nothing
6 .- Buy unions
7 .- Spanish continually lie about the ETA truce
8 .- Do not reform the electoral law
9 .- To allow his party to govern and make with separatists in Catalonia and in Galicia before
10 .- Lying about the Iraq war and out troops against a UN resolution
11 .- Promote from Ferraz changes in statutes of autonomy increasingly unsympathetic and almost unconstitutional
12 .- Do not get us out of the war in Afghanistan. As legal as the other war
13 .- To think that you can change a country's economic system by decree with his law of sustainable economy
14 .- Do not bet on nuclear energy
15 .- **** our relations with the United States for 5 years
16 .- Giving our money to totalitarian regimes, Cuba, Bolivia, Venezuela ....
17 .- reform the abortion law, arguing that if women do not go to jail ..... when it never has been any, and letting a 16 year old girl an abortion without parental consent.
18 .- To say that the economy will improve but that "it is not safe, and we do not know when or in what amounts"
19 .- Lying blatantly denying the crisis before the election
20 .- credited with creating jobs and growth ..... but no responsibility for the crisis and 4,500,000 unemployed
21. - Trying to indoctrinate our children with the Education for Citizenship

thanks to all the money lent by the european union for decades. spain without the help of the ue will be a third world country. spaniards are completely useless.

In this video in the Lisbon summit can be seen as Zapatero and what you are interested in international relations, embarrassment is seen as Zapatero seeks only the photo with Obama, just to come out in the Spanish press and see the electorate, the only thing that interests you achieve and maintain the power to live in her fantasy world, because I still have not heard that in Spain governs.

Heavens, how silly can one be? Let's see, hmmm, is there a twisted agenda at play here?

I'm in agreement on this.

Canek

spaniards are completely useless.

I think it's better that way: Canek is completely useless.

World Business: "With Portugal becoming the third Eurozone country to need a financial bailout, its neighbour Spain is determined not to follow. Tough austerity measures have been introduced, but the country is still in terrible condition. Growth for 2011 is predicted to barely top 1% and the country could be looking at 10 years of stagnation."
