Does anyone know of any studies that may have been done on determining frequencies of Celiac Disease or gluten intolerance?

I did not develop a problem with wheat, barley, or rye until I was about 30. I have never had a problem with lactose and can drink a gallon of milk a day, but I have not been able to eat anything that has gluten for the last 14 years.

If anyone is aware of any information on what countries have higher ratios of gluten intolerance or Celiac disease, please let me know.

I heard once that this condition has a higher than average rate of occurrence among the Irish, but I have no idea if that is true.
