Songs in Italian

Some people are just a disgrace to Italians.

Some people are just a disgrace to Italians.

"There's no such thing as good money, or bad money. There's just money."

- Charlie Lucky Luciano

Jonas Kaufmann singing "Parla Piu Piano"...Speak Softly Love, otherwise known as the Godfather song, and a lovely job he does of it too.

"Speak softly and no one will hear,We live our love, just the two of us
Nobody knows the truth,
Not even the sky that's watching us from above

I'll stay by your side,
My love, always.

Speak softly and come closer to me,
I want to feel my eyes inside of you,
Nobody knows the truth,
It's such a great love, it can't get any greater than this.

I'll stay by your side,
My love, always.

Speak softly and come closer to me,
I want to feel my eyes inside of you,
Nobody knows the truth,
It's such a great love, it can't get any greater than this."

One of the most beautiful love songs.

"Heartsick"-Gigi Alessio and Lara Fabian

C'e Tempo-There's time, by one of our great songwriter-singers, Ivano Fossati, from Genova.

There’s A Time
They say there’s a time for planting
And one that you enjoy anticipating
A dreaming time that comes at night.
And a daytime one that unfurls
Like a linen sheet in the wind.
There’s a time that’s denied and one that is secret
A distant time which belongs to others
A time when it would have been better to leave
And a time when we two should have spoken
There’s a time which is perfect for silence
Watching the movement of the sun in summertime
And knowing how to tell our children about
The mute hour of the fairies
There’s a day when we lost ourselves,
Like a ring lost in a field
And a whole future plan that we could never make come true
Time escapes us, but there’s nothing to fear
Sooner or later it will catch us up again
Because there’s time, there’s time, there’s time, there’s time
For this infinite sea of people

I just quickly did this, so if someone has some corrections, that would be great.

The location of this video is very familiar to me.

Piccola Anima

Little soul
You run as if
You were a sparrow
Scared to death.
Somebody is here for you
If you look closely, you will see him in front of you
He also runs not to have to escape
If you look closely you will see me standing in front of you
if you speak in a low voice, I hear you louder.
It won't be easy to explain
What I want from you
I even don't know when and why I have lost the words,
But if you are leaving, take my eyes with you.
Little soul,
The lamp light accompanies you at home
You are in love and you are lonely.
That infamous man have never understood you
You know that it is not hard to breathe
It's the love that keeps you alive.
It won't be easy to explain
What I want from you
I even dont know when and why I have lost the words,
But if you are leaving, take my eyes with you.
Walking lets all the sorrow go away
Do you want to have a walk together?
You deserve all the beauties in the world
People say that there is nothing more fragile than a promise
And I won't ever promise you anything.
It won't be easy to explain
What I want from you
I even don't know when and why I have lost the words,
But if you are leaving, take my eyes with you.
Little soul
You are not little at all.

Never heard of him. I also highly doubt he had any Italian in him, whatever that wiki article might say. I'd be shocked to find out there were any Italians in Alabama until pretty recently. He looks like a typical black man from Alabama, maybe fleeing the discrimination there and inventing an identity for himself, like Melungeons spinning yarns about being Portuguese.

If this is what comes to your mind when you think about Italian music perhaps you should work your way through the thread and listen to real Italians singing.
