I would just like to know peoples opinion on the accuracy and clarity of ancient writers. basically who do you believe
My opinion
Best
Strabo - accurate and detailed
Herodotus - as above
Livy - as above
Middle
Polybius
Ptolemy - suffered from discriptive accuracy
Tacitus - lacked accuracy
Homer - suffered from too many bard stories
Worst
jordanes - copied Cassiodorus works and turn non-fiction into fiction
Pliny the Elder -
Of the others I have limited experience
