I am U152*

A long shot but just ordered L159.2 SNP. It has been found in a guy U152* (negative for other known SNPs).
223929 Colangelo on the U152 project.

http://www.familytreedna.com/public/...2/default.aspx

He shows as R1b1a2a1a1b4f but this is not an error, he is U152+!
It is found within L21, but he has this SNP too!

The distribution of L159.2 is unknown as this is the first in U152!

I`m U152* too (Z36- DYS492=12).

Because I have some off-modal values in common with Colangelo, I wonder if I shall order this SNP.

My home South-West Germany is the probable origin of U152 in Hallstatt period.

Hi geiserich

Very interesting!

I am waiting to see what U152* SNPs if any are tested on the new Genographic chip.
https://genographic.nationalgeographic.com/about/

I have heard Spencer Wells will release a report this month. I don't know if the tested SNPs will be released though.

A member of my cluster Crosier Kit 180858 is negative for SNP 159.2.
Because of this, it is not useful for me to test this SNP.
But for other U152* guys it might be helpful.

But aren't Colangelo and Crosier in the same A1: U152* (L2- Z36- Z56- (dys492=12)) cluster?

It may turn out Colangelo is the only 159.2+ in U152*. In the SNP results most that have tested and are negative are L2+, Or in the case of Couture kit E14175 needs to test for Z36. To rule out his U152*.

U152* and L159.2-
Kit 180858: Crosier
Kit B1388: Kipling

Geiserich are you 'close' to Crosier or Kipling in the results?

Steve Gilbert (U152 admin) said 'The distribution of L159.2 is unknown', so one assumes it occurred any time after the U152 mutation!

I`m very close to Crozier and not so close to Kipling, but because Crozier is L159.2-, I suppose I am probably L159.2- too.

OK geiserich

I will let you know when my 159.2 result comes in.

Hi Brianco,

I hope you will have a match and you will loose your star.

I`ve seen Colangelo has ordered the new Geno 2.0. Perhaps there are some new SNP`s for U152* guys like me.

The implication is that L159 within U152 is actually L159.3.

Good morning i've just joint eupedia, i've never tested my haplogroup, but you're talking about a person named colangelo like me, who is he? and where is he from?

Hi Filippo

KIT 223929 ancestor Frank Colangelo, San Fele, Italy.

http://www.familytreedna.com/public/R1b-U152/default.aspx?section=yresults

I don't know how to contact him though, sorry :sad-2:

BTW, all my tests (SNPs and Geno) all came in negative. So I remain U152* :)

Colangelo was found Negative for 159.2 with Geno so do we question its quality?

So Colangelo has a most basal form of R1b-U152?

As in no SNPs then yes. BUT he was tested positive for 159.2+ at FTDNA so ? :petrified:

All in the A:a:a group are (L2- Z36- Z56- Z192- Z194-; some are Z192 not tested).

I dont know if Geno tests for Z192, it isn't shown in my Geno results. I think that a few came back Z194+ so are also shown as Z192+ as this is 'upstream'!

Isnt L159.2 usually a mutation of R1b-L21 (DF13)?

but L159.2 is usually a mutation of R1b-L21, this could imply a north atlantic origin maybe from normandy, whereas U158 is common in italy and suggests a roman/italic origin, so what's the solution? what does this result suggest in your opinion?
