And the best one of all, of course ...sung by Andrea Bocelli

    Lyrics:
Mamma, I am so happy to be returning to you
My song [will] tell you it's the most beautiful of days for me
    Mamma, I'm so happy
Why should we live so far apart?

Mamma, only for you does my song fly
You will stay with me, you won't be alone any more
Mamma, how much I love you

These words of love that my heart whispers
    Perhaps aren't used any more
[But] Mamma, you are my most beautiful song
You are my life, and for the rest of my life
    I'll never leave you again

I feel [as if just yesterday] your tired hand
    searching for my golden curls
    I hear your failing voice
    singing the old lullabyes

    Repeat

    Angela who wrote the lyrics?

BTW, Andrea is a very good singer. I really liked his performance along with Sarah Brightman many years ago.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers here.

I don't like the mass media representing mother's day it is more of a family and personal thing.

It's a relatively modern song (meant for dancing) written by Cesare Andrea Bixio according to Wiki. (I had to look it up.)

In terms of taste, we are doomed always to disagree, I think. I like Bocelli very much, especially for pop music, but I really can't stand Sarah Brightman's voice. I think this is a much better rendition of that song. (I also think he looked like he was going to crawl out of his skin when Brightman would 'paw' him during those performances!)
