What music are you listening to?

Similarities inevitably occur due to the ability of cultures to
easily expand,to influence one another, but in order to certify a
certain correlation, you have to add the facts that supports it.
Living isolated in the mountains, the Gorals had probably integrated
their original Vlach elements even into the Polish dances, developing
a style of their own, like the other North-Carpathian groups did.

This is the story of two shepherds that have met in an exposition
from Torino, the Pole, hearing that his companion is Romanian, said
to him that he is of Vlach origin too. They came up with a project,to
reconstruct the Vlach migration to Northern Carpathians.
The Polish hinghlanders couldn't retain their ancestral
way of living(shepherdry)without preserving other traditions too.

To summarize,I don't care if the Polish dance is just a Medieval
pan-European phenomenon, but I'm very interested of Goral print
in it,it has to be one, since they had ultimately preserved non-Polish/non-
Slovakian dances(hora, for instance,a traditional Romanian circle dance).

It is very likely that these mountaineers had preserved(judging from people's faces)
not only traditions, but also genes for their agitated kingdom.

EDIT:

"Gorals have their distinctive music and the intricate quick step dance that is performed to this day."

EDIT2:

"Southern Poland features the culture of the Gorals (Polish highlanders). These dances were brought to this mountain areas with Vlach settlers in the 17th century. Very similar versions can be found at the Gorols inSlovakia and in Czech Republic. The rhythm of their music is different for the otherwise duple or triple-meter of the lowlands."

EDIT3:

"The dynamic of this custom raises the issue ofthe significance and importance of the creative act at the level of the reconstructionof male dance, which was put into circulation by the nowadays Goral tradition or ancientVlach basic motifs, slightly modified, together with several Gorals from Polandand the Vlachs folkloric groups from Slovakia and Czech Republic in a well know annualfestival named Troje Meze that starts in the last week of June or in the first weekof July"

"During 1970-1999 we observed a general scientific and cultural interest that doubledby financial efforts concerning collecting and publishing Polish Mountaineersfolklore, because they had published almost 73 traditional musical albums by Górals
within the Podhale, Beskids and Silesia counties, and between these albums we havefound 16 albums of traditional choreology. We want to underline the several projects made by the Institute of Archaeologyand Ethnology from Kraków and of course all the seminars dedicated to Carpathianethnology, because scientific interest is still actual in the Academic Polish milieu. In all of these studies published in the last few years in Poland we have discoveredclues, scientific documents, opinions that lead us to a shyness but proper acceptanceof historic realities that obviously show the presence and ethno-cultural contributionsof Vlach shepherds to the completion of the Central European cultural spirit of ourCarpathian neighbours"

Ciuleandra(The Thistle Dance),a dance with roots in the Dionysian Mysteries, one of Andre Rieu's favourites,
the girls dance to be chosen:

I assume that "Dionysian Mysteries" don't
necessarily imply Hellenization,it probably is an
umbrella term called this way because Dyonisos
antedates and influences Roman gods(like
Bachus,Liber or Libera) or their cults within the
Roman Empire.

search the Brygian Bakchos and Slavic Bog to understand who Dionysos was,
Also search the story of Dionysus campaign, the road of Tocharians and Alexander,

Can anybody advise me something inspiring?

I'll do my best, Serena, but inspiring in what way? Inspiring in love, to get over disappointment, to persevere, to overcome sadness? What? There are also happy and sad ones, rock or pop. There are infinite combinations.

How about Kelly Clarkson: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
At 196 million views it seems pretty popular.

One of my personal favorites: Jon Bon Jovi-It's My Life

Another Jon Bon Jovi song (besides "It's My Life" linked in the above post), this one giving encouragement to young people struggling financially: Living On a Prayer

"When I find love again": James Blunt

I don't like foul language in songs, but I think "I'm Not Afraid" by Eminem has a basically good message:

How we should strive to love, and might want to be loved:
"I'llStand By You"-Carrie Underwood

Turn Around. Every now and then I get a little bit terrified but then I see the look in your eyes...

Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler: Total Eclipse of the Sun.

I agree with the sentiment: Love is the only thing that can sustain you when life gets tough, as it does for everyone eventually.

Forgive me if what I'm listening to is too commonplace or distasteful. :innocent: All of these songs I've heard played on the radio of my local stations and enjoy quite much. This might take a few posts and may build on even more hehe.

I hope I'm not spamming up the page badly.

Nice songs, Kisuan. I like them all. In fact, I was going to post the Journey song when Serena asked for some inspiring music. I guess I'm not the only one who listens to the Oldies Stations. :)

 70s, 80s, and even 90s forever Angela! I personally feel that's where the "soul" of music was. Not saying modern music is bad at all (well, maybe some exceptions), but it doesn't really live up to how music was back then in my opinion.

Some very well known songs (at least in the US I guess) (well, actually, a lot of songs I posted can be considered well known (or at least the bands/singer)):
