.... A Paul McCartney song, “Get Back” was recorded the last week of January 1969 at London’s Apple Studios. On May 24, 1969, it reached #1 on the Hot 100 and stayed there for five weeks. One of the songs it kept from reaching the top spot was Elvis’s “In the Ghetto,” which peaked at #3 on June 14. It was the first time Elvis Presley challenged The Beatles in a head-to-head duel on Billboard’s singles chart....
