From the comment section of that You Tube video posted by Wanderlust:

"Michelle Obama's sensitivity and outrage at Trump's crude talk seems contrived and selective. She seemed really comfortable with rolling out the red carpet at the White House for Hip-Hop and Gangsta Rap stars who brag about physically drugging and abusing girls, and calling them all kinds of horrible names. Hypocrisy. Nothing but leftist propaganda." / 143 likes.

Of course, another false equivalency.

1.) Are any of these "Hip-Hop and Gangsta rap stars" running for US President, arguably the most important office in the world?

2.) The Obamas have criticized the sexism, violence and materialism prevalent within certain corners of Hip-Hop and almost all of the rappers invited to the White House were part of initiatives to use their influential platforms in a positive, community outreach sort of way.

But as usual, context and facts are lost in these asinine, strawman arguments.

Around 1950-70 I think it was the peak of US economic power relative to the rest of the world.

Yes, that's true (finally). It's also worth noting that the policies responsible for America's "greatness" post WWII were "center-left."

http://www.theatlantic.com/business...ican-economic-history-told-in-1-graph/261503/

In the 60 years after World War II, the United States built the world's greatest middle class economy, then unbuilt it. And if you want a single snapshot that captures the broad sweep of that transformation, you could do much worse than this graph from a new Pew report, which tracks how average family incomes have changed at each rung of the economic ladder from 1950 through 2010.
Here's the arc it captures: In the immediate postwar period, America's rapid growth favored the middle and lower classes. The poorest fifth of all households, in fact, fared best. Then, in the 1970s, amid two oil crises and awful inflation, things ground to a halt. The country backed off the postwar, center-left consensus -- captured by Richard Nixon's comment that "we're all Keynesians now" -- and tried Reaganism instead. We cut taxes. Technology and competition from abroad started whittling away at blue collar jobs and pay. The financial markets took off. And so when growth returned, it favored the investment class -- the top 20 percent, and especially the top 5 percent (and, though it's not on this chart, the top 1 percent more than anybody).

Moreover, there have been studies conducted that show the US economy usually does better under Democratic Presidents.

http://www.salon.com/2015/12/28/the...nomy_does_better_under_democratic_presidents/

The results of a broad range of studies are clear, then: Progressive policies are better for economic growth, better at creating a racially equitable society, better at strengthening the middle class and better at reducing unemployment.

LOL Republicans have done all that they can, and in many ways, succeeded, in taking away/restricting/RIGGING Voter's Rights in BLATANT, PROVEN, UNDENIABLE ways, yet somehow find themselves up in arms over unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about the Dems doing it. Classic.

Donald Trump rallies infiltrated by paid Hillary Clinton operatives, investigation reveals:

Center-left by 1950s standards would be center-right or right by 2010s standards though.

Hillary is racist:

By any chance it wasn't Hillary Clinton operatives too, who paid Mr. Trump to say all this garbage?...oh and by the way please notice how all the supporters go Euphoric and smile and clap....it must be a Hillary trap....:)

Conspiracy master DejaVu is back!
The conspiracy theories are always brought by people who lack in logic. There is always this short path. And above all, it is very intriguing.

Positively WRONG, as usual. For example, the Republican party platform of 1956 was quite progressive by modern standards.

They were in favor of providing federal assistance to low-income communities; they wanted to maintain and protect social security; they extended asylum to refugees; they wanted to increase the minimum wage; they wanted equal pay regardless of sex and gender; and they strengthened labor unions amongst other liberal policies.

The Republican/Conservative party platform of modern times would even be unrecognizable to the Republican party of the 1990s. They have slid much farther to the right and the Democratic party followed. The Obama administration and Hilary's policy platform are rather centrist and not truly left in the full sense of the word. Someone like Bernie Standers actually ran on a progressive/leftist agenda.

According to general election polls, periodic peaks of Donald Trump's popularity come once every two months (the last three periods of peak support for Trump in polls were: 22-25 May; 25-29 July; 15-20 September). In between these periods of Trump's popularity we can observe peaks of Clinton's supremacy (25-28 June; 6-11 and 25-28 August; 13-18 October). If this long-term trend continues, then today another period of Clinton's decline has just started, and around the middle of November we should expect another peak of Trump's popularity. However, the 2016 presidential election will take place on Tuesday, November 8 - around one week before the expected next peak of support for Trump. So, he needs to try hard to catch up a bit faster than usually if he wants to win.

There are a lot of Americans out there, primarily working class and lower middle class people, whose wages have been stagnant or whose jobs have disappeared. In order to make ends meet they work two or three low paying jobs to substitute for once well paying industrial jobs. Meanwhile, they see Hispanics and Asians entering the country and competing for jobs. To try to make all of them white sheet wearing racists because of their fear of this immigration is dishonest.

There are other Americans who are unhappy with the anemic economic recovery, which they believe could be jump started by economic reforms such as cutting the corporate tax rate, which is now among the highest if not the highest in the world.

Other Americans are appalled at the feckless foreign policy pursued by the Obama administration, abetted by Clinton, as in the Libyan fiasco.

A huge swathe of the American public is appalled by the politics as usual, corrupt dealings in Washington D.C., and fear that Hillary and Bill Clinton will accelerate it. They've been selling access to America's enemies for years. They'll just be emboldened if they win the White House.

A lot of these people thought that perhaps Donald Trump could clean house and address some of these problems. However, every time it has seemed as if he's within reach of winning he sabotages himself and lets all these people down. The man has the emotional and psychological maturity of a fourteen year old. His focus is always on him. Instead of keeping on message, giving people reasons to vote for him, he obsesses on every jab, wasting his air time on insulting his accusers and the Republican party officials, the Republican party he is destroying. Now he's saying he's losing because the election is "rigged". That just sounds like whining, and it also could depress his vote. If it's already rigged for him to lose, why bother to vote. Of course, a depressed vote by more conservative leaning people could give the Democrats the Senate, which means there'd by no check on a President Clinton. It's just irrational insanity.

The more he talks this way the more voters he loses, and that doesn't apply only to women. The charge that is actually sticking the most is that he doesn't have the temperament to be president.
It's just undeniable that's the case.

I just love that women are supposed to be the emotional, irrational ones. Sure can't prove it this go round.

Unless, of course, he's deliberately trying to lose.

Simply he is a conspirator theorist.

I think they are very spiritual people. Not necessarily religious per se, but spiritual in their core nature. For them them the extra natural, enigmatic, invisible, transcendental, unexplained, or anything they read or imagine is as real as the physical world around. Every luck or bad luck, or everything that happens to them or others has meaning, purpose and was controlled and executed by conscious mind.
I've rote more about this here:

MAKE YOUR CHOICE

Should one laugh or cry? I feel like crying. This is a mad world...............who ever avoids taxes is a genius including billionaires according to Giuliani :useless::useless::useless:

At least Trump didn't ruin lifes of any 12 year-old girls.

==================================

And at least Trump is not a pathological liar, unlike Clinton:

There's absolutely nothing immoral, unpatriotic, much less illegal about a business complying with tax laws passed by Congress which allow businesses to offset profits with prior losses.

There is a reason for laws like this, as there is for bankruptcy laws like Chapter 12. It is to help companies to keep afloat for long enough to pay their creditors.

What is the alternative, to let the companies go into bankruptcy and fold, putting tens of thousands of people out of work?

I'm no Donald Trump fan, but what he did is totally legal. He is audited every single year; had he broken the standard business tax laws he would have been prosecuted.

The reason he didn't want to release the returns (which have now been leaked), is because if you haven't run a business you don't understand how this works. I'd add too that this would apply to the corner candy store that took a hit as well as a big business.

It is hard to pay taxes when one is almost a bankrupt. Keeping alive by bankers' life line, because he borrowed so much money that they won't let him fail. This says a lot about his management skills or lack of, and being a "successful businessman". It is all for the show, and show off he is. A big salesman, all talk no substance.
He managed to produce another lie accusing Buffett and Gates of not paying taxes too. Shortly after, Buffett published his tax return exposing Trump's lie. Buffett said many times, in various interviews, that he likes paying taxes to support his country and fellow citizens, not mentioning Gates doing the same, and both spending billions over billions to help poor humans around the globe. They actually going out of their way to pay taxes, to help their country, to be proud citizens. Having best accountants and lawyers they could find a way not to pay, shifting their money around the globe as "investments" to avoid taxation. Well, honestly they don't have this kind of write offs Trump can use, because they are truly successful businessmen. The ones who could really manage a country and economy well, Buffett and Bloomberg and alike.
Unlike Trump who doesn't pay taxes and his Trump "charity" supporting only one orphan, Donald Trump himself. He knew the optics were not right that's why he was "ashamed" to realize tax papers.
Some smart president said long time ago, that we shouldn't ask what country can do for us, but what we could do for a country. It is impossible feat for this egocentric maniac showman.
Angela, vote for the lesser evil. Make sure he won't make a reality show out of USA and destroy the world in process.

So in a nutshell, a person on a medium wage who manages to have maybe a very average house a car a few vacations a year, have to work there a solid 8hr a day 5 days a week, has to pay taxes regularly or otherwise harassed by IRD, while a person who is a declared billionaire and boasts of having Millions of dollars and exuberant life style does not have to pay anything. Do all Big business in the US not pay tax? because no body understands how fair the system is and they should be excused because they employ thousands of people? All companies do this? There are some things (like gun ownership) I will probably never ever understand.
