Ok
I think Trump's idea of a concrete wall is not good enough

To have results USA NEEDS TO HIRE CHUCK NORRIS :cool-v:

Chuck, the God on earth

Instead of blaiming the voters for stupidty, try to figure out why Trump was so succesful.
I don't have ready answers, but it is worth exploring. It is an eye-opener.

And those who were commenting all the time, but didn't see this coming are certainly not smarter than the Trump voters.
It won't stop them to keep on commenting though.

The answer to that is to do with those who are being discriminated in the job market. A lot of the educated white males on forums have been sarcastically making fun of the Trump supporters calling them uneducated stupid...etc. They did the same when Brexit happened.

Now let’s take a good look at the population of any given country, are the blue collar workers the majority of the population or the Masters and PhD graduates?

Now you should also take a good look at the Asian educated people. A lot of the Asian people I know got degrees. PHDs, Masters or bachelors but could not find jobs immediately because of competition and discrimination. These people are NOT happy with illegal immigrants coming into the countries to compete for their jobs, considering that many of them need to work in restaurants and other low paid jobs before they can get a job from their specialised field. For an Asian person s/he suffers another kind of discrimination because many western companies do not think they have a cultural fit. It is as uncomfortable for the people in the company as it is for that person to work together in any given company.

The only Asian people I know who got jobs immediately after graduation are the honours graduates or the Doctors and Dentists or specialist doctors.

For a white educated male it is very easy to get high paid jobs. So they are very sarcastic and show off about their abilities and spend all day making fun of those who have to gone through discrimination and hard work before they can be successful like them.

In Australia, for many years a lot of employers have been giving a lot of what’s called 457 visa holders illegals jobs. They get paid only 5 AUD an hour, but for the poor it is still high paid for them because of the huge difference of value in currencies. Once they got discovered they get deported and a new bunch of those will come to Australia to fill their vacancies. The companies who hire them get away with it without any penalties.

So instead of giving employment to Australian blue collars workers on a normal pay they preferred to give those employments to illegals because they are cheap to hire.

I am sure it is the same in the states, except instead of getting poor Asian illegals they get Mexicans and in France those illegals are the Africans. If you go to the poorest part of France the faces get darker. There are not a lot of Asian people in France; some Japanese folks who live in the states on this forum said that people think they are Chinese. Well I have been called all sorts of Asians. I have even being mistaken as a Kazakhstani. Well some of their ladies do look like Chinese, that is very true. But no, my background is completely different from them. Europeans can be very ignorant when it comes to contacts with Asians. They are a lot better than before though. Thanks to more contacts with Asians in the last ten years.

I do not think Le pen would win the next French election because I don’t believe the French could stomach a woman as their president. In France they have two turns to elect their president unlike in the states and in Australia because of constitution. If Le pen won for the first turn, (this already happened before, with Grand Papa Le Pen the French just did that to prove their point about their discontent with illegal immigration, then for the second turn Jacques René Chirac won), I won’t be too surprised but I doubt she will for the second turn. I was right about Brexit then the US election let’s see whether I am right about the French election.

The US president has more power than any chancellor or presidents in Europe. We do still live in a Man’s dominated world. Hilary was too sure of herself. The arrogant will stumble and fall and no one will raise you up.

Aaaaaah, now I got it. He is a real politician, all metaphors and written in sand.

Take it easy man... :

We're on easy street
And it feels so sweet
Cause the world is but a treat
When you're on easy street
And we're breaking out the good champagne
We're sitting pretty on the gravy train
And when we sing every sweet refrain repeats
Right here on easy street
It's our moment in the sun
And it's only just begun
It's time to have a little fun
We're inviting you to come and see why you should be
On easy street
Yea we got a front row seat
O, to a life that can't be beat
Right here on easy street

It's our moment in the sun
And it's only just begun
It's time to have a little fun
And we're inviting you to come and see why you should be

I have great respect for Asian people and their culture. I see many similarities with us of British descent, but let's not pull the discrimination card. The business and tech industry are DOMINATED by Asian people in Canada. I believe that statistic holds in the USA as well, of course referring to the cities here. Business and Tech are strong solid high paying positions outside of doctors/lawyers/dentists. I'd argue Asians are far more discriminatory to people outside their group than whites are with them or other visible minorities. It's always a two way street, but only white people seem to get blamed for it.

Where is my opportunity in China? Assume I can speak Mandarin, I will always be considered a foreigner and an outsider. Why are you holding Europeans and Americans to a different standard than your own people? They are EXACTLY the same. In fact people are the same everywhere.

Believe it or not I actually agree with you. It is like this everywhere, my half Japanese half French friend experienced a lot of discrimination in Japan when he was a child because he looks neither like a European or a Far Easterner, he looks like a Turk. So he prefers to stay in Europe, but seem to have trouble finding the right person to be his spouse. He feels that he does not fit in anywhere, even though he got a PHD degree and has a successful career. Even in Europe there are some who says things or treat him in a way that hurt his feelings.

So, we can see that in any society social inequality exists, and this social inequality is everywhere!

In any given election there are winners and losers. My relatives in the states who have the power to vote voted for him because they believe Trump's presidency will make them the winners.

Yes, US should help Mexico to devellop.
But first Mexicans themselves should erradicate corruption inside Mexico, otherwise it is no use.
As long as there is corruption, criminality will persist and financial aid will be diverted to the wrong people.
It is the same as in so many other countries.
Once a country is well off, corruption disappears by itself. Once people make good money for good jobs there is much less incentive for corruption, stealing or kidnaping, or doing other crimes.

I mentioned this before. He is an excellent salesmen, and more importantly a great promoter. He promoted his name so much that being average or below businessmen his is given money by others to put his name on many buildings around the world. He promoted his name in Apprentice show, and before becoming a president, he became well known not only in New York or America, but also around the Planet. In other words, he knows what people like to hear, he knows what to say to sell his name, his person. For many ears he is a sweet talker and charismatic man. He found his audience and he sold his message well.

I'm not sure about Australia, but illegal immigrant black market is very close to nonexistence in Canada. What is the percentage of illegals in black market of jobs in Australia?

Trump is actually raising the height and improving the "cyclone type" of fencing that president Bush put up to stop the mexicans

Countries build on immigrants like Canada, Australia or US are more tolerant, inclusive and open than the rest of the world. This is mostly due to exposure of kids, kids growing in diversity and multiculturalism. If you grow up among all the world's races, you will consider them your own people. You won't be afraid of them. Conversely the most intolerant or racist nations are the ones who are very ethnically and racially homogenous. If you grow up in insulation and homogeneity of your ethnic group, you will be afraid of all the rest of the world's cultures, religions or races. Afraid of the others. Being afraid of the others is our default state of mind. Our ancestral tribal instincts. It takes a lot of effort to overcome it.

Generally speaking, I would say that Canada seems to be the least racist country in the world.

In Australia , these 457 are not given out to anyone , but... ...only to tourists who have exhausted their 3 month visa stay and want a 6 month extension, they have to work ( unless they pay in advance the nominated fee to cover any health problems they get ) for 3 months of these 6 in the rural sector ...............they where once charged 36% of tax in the dollar, but that was reduced recently to 19% .
I cannot recall the hourly rate , but it should be set at the current minimum rate ( not $5)

On Le Pen...........she will definitely win ........people want change

yes, the French have two turns of voting, but this time it will not be an issue.
USA has one turn with no compulsory voting.
Australia has one turn with compulsory voting .....a fine is issued for not voting and this fine increases every month that you do not pay it.

I don't think American Asians are with you on this one. They voted 3:1 for Hillary.

I should be clearer when I made my point. If you look at my first post in response to Maciamo's comment, I did say that the reasons why my relatives voted for Trump.

My relatives in the US (middle class) who are over the age of 60 are required to pay 600 US dollars every month for their health care to feed the lower class. Small to middle size enterprises owners( my relatives) were required to pay 35% taxes, and now with Trump's campaign they are only required to pay 15%, and that is a lot of money. For the upper class people like Donald Trump, they either pay no taxes in some cases, or even if they have to pay taxes, the fact that they are so rich, it is like small potatoes to them.

So these are only applicable for elderly American Asian people, those who voted for Hilary must be young Asian Americans. :)

That's why they were more willing to support Trump?

I'm not sure about Australia, but illegal immigrant black market is very close to nonexistence in Canada. What is the percentage of illegals in black market of jobs in Australia?

The rest I will reply to you another day I am getting busy again.

So if you torn down that fence would it work better? Even though fences are made to help keep people's homes secure, some folks still can get robbed, but does it mean that they should just stop making fences? I think that fence needs some sort of security alarm. Actually they could even just cut the wires off, I see this as a employment opportunities for people wanting a job as guards. Anyway that fence is not tall enough and they never finished constructing it.
The point was, how much more improvement we can get building a wall for 100 billion dollars over this existing fence.

If I was Trump (spit, spit) I would invest much less in drones. For one billion we can buy 1 million drones these days, and they all come with 4k definition cameras. Another 1 billion I would spend for computer center with intelligent software, able to recognize people automatically without human help monitoring these millin cameras on drawings. The rest, the ground troops, are already in place. Automatic drones discover illegals, day or night, notify the central, and the troops are dispatched.
Even better. Drones can be equipd with tasers or rubber bullets and tase illegals if they proceed the "wrong direction". And do nothing if they go back home. You wouldn't need so many ground troops anymore. Drone technology and Artificial Intelligence software are improving very quickly these days, so there is much more benefit of it to come.

Most of all I would help Mexico to develop economically.

and the audience is fed up with the message given by traditional politics and press
you can be as good a salesman as you want, if there is no demand for your product, you won't sell

if it were that simple ..

It doesn't address the main problem and for that reason it will be unsuccessful. The main problem is poverty in Mexico. Poor Mexicans are coming even to make 5 bucks an hour, because it is way more what they can earn in Mexico. The true solution for US is to help Mexico's economy. Even if Mexico catches up to half level of american hourly wages, this is enough to stop this grand migration. Nobody would risk life and indignation anymore for few more dollars.
Mexico did pretty good progress in last decades when it opened its economy to the world. Another couple of decades of good investments, reforms and job growth in Mexico and the illegal immigration problem should be solved. Otherwise, you can spend billions on a big wall, but poor Mexican will find new ways to slip in. Because hungry and desperate people will do anything to get in. They will dig tunnels under the wall, they will be smuggled in trucks, they will come on thousands of boats like illegals from Africa to Europe.

I agree with you that US should encourage businesses to go to Mexico. But Mexico is not doing much to train its workforce. This year alone China send to USA 350 000 students. Mexico a few thousands. The availability of highly trained workforce in China and Asia in general is unbelievable. They are overcoming Europe as well. In a decade there will be not much difference in Education between America and Asia. And education means business. Mexico has no chance of catching up US in 00 years. That's why USA has to discourage immigrants from going North. Wall is part of it. Workplace verification is the other one.

He might not be the Racist, just ordinary small r racist, but he is one.

And the problem Lebrok is that these are the type of racists that are so insidious and ultimately do the most damage.

People like Angela have this (conveniently) loaded, blown up, exaggerated notion of what it means to be a Racist, that it can only come in the form of wearing white robes and burning crosses on people's lawns or wearing a swastika and sending millions to the gas chambers, when the reality is that "small r" racism is far more pervasive and destructive in that it's better disguised (more systemic and institutional) and often cloaked in dubious rationalizations (being anti-political correctness, wanting protection from "terrorists" and "thugs" who just so happen to be brown).

And when we combine implicit bias, which is the mind’s way of making uncontrolled and automatic associations between two concepts very quickly and a healthy human adaptation that we all possess, with race, racism and racist acts are what oftentimes emerge. The implicit associations we harbor in our subconscious cause us to have feelings and attitudes about other people based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, age, and appearance. These associations develop over the course of a lifetime beginning at a very early age through exposure to direct and indirect messages. In addition to early life experiences, the media and news programming are often-cited origins of implicit associations. Instinctively crossing the street (out of fear) when one sees a group of young Mexican men assembled on a corner may be an unfortunate byproduct of one's socialization and acculturation, but when one uses their bully pulpit to publicly (and falsely) declare that most Mexican immigrants are criminals and rapists that should be refused entry to the country, we've gone from implicit bias to explicitly inciting bigotry and prejudice, which is most certainly Racist. Though I think many Americans and many Trump supporters are "small r" (read: implicit bias) racists, Donald Trump, himself, is a Racist. He may not wear a white robe or a swastika, but the people who wear the white robes and swastikas see him as their hero and savior. There is no way in hell that this can be explained away as something other than what it is--racism. Trump chose to appoint Steven Benen, a rabid anti-semite, misogynist and xenophobe and proud proponent of the "alt-right" to the White House, and yet some here would have us insult our own intelligence by saying that Trump isn't racist. Give me a ******* break.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/11/08/us/politics/election-exit-polls.html

The strongest differences in voting are by religious affiliation, condition of economy and building the wall.

What's interesting LeBrok is that the majority of Trump voters were not struggling white people scared about their personal economic outlooks--though more under/uneducated than other key demographics, they still made above average incomes. But what they were more concerned about was the economic outlooks for their children and subsequent generations, believing that their progeny would be dealt a lower quality of life, in large part due to immigration and "others" taking their jobs. Ultimately, everything comes back to a sense of entitlement and fear of losing that power to those who don't look and believe the way they do--it's pure bigotry, selfishness and covetousness. I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for them. Or maybe I should? I don't know.

If a child has been told his entire life that he is the most attractive, the smartest, the best at everything (for no substantial reason) and throws a massive temper tantrum when the neglected kids start to get a bit more attention, does one coddle and cater to the tantrum or does one let him roll around on the floor until he grows up and accepts that the sun, moon and stars don't revolve around his being and that there is more than enough attention to go around for everyone? I suppose it must be difficult for those who believe themselves to be the chosen ones to have to reconcile with the fact that they were never chosen, just lucky (on the backs of others), and that pretty soon they will no longer possess the lion's share of undeserved privilege. It's not the child's fault that he was spoiled but he will nevertheless have to suffer the "rude awakening." I suppose one blames "the system" and rules and institutions that falsely empowered him.

Ok

I heard a lot about Mexico,
I even made jokes my shelf,

BUT HOW MANY OF YOU KNOW THAT AT TTIP treaty MEXICO IS FAR AHEAD THAN MANY EU COUNTRIES?

Tread very carefully when talking about me: I will not, repeat, will not tolerate insults directed against me. Your infractions have not been wiped off the slate. They accumulate, and then the ban is permanent. Are we clear?

Oh, and just as anti-black racism is not acceptable, neither is anti-ethnic group "racism", for lack of a better term. Watch it.

Now you can't say I didn't warn you.
