if you count their ages, they are older than dinosaurs

I think USA soon will have new elections,

Explain please.

offcourse,

one is 74 and the other 78 years old.

both are over 150 years old :grin::grin:

I guess the oldest one Biden has got it in the pocket.

Key is Pennsylvania. When Biden get's this he is the next president.

Now: 550.000 votes still to count, especially in the urban center of it,

a cautious estimate is 66% for Biden, 33% Trump

+ 370 for Biden

+ 180 for Trump

Trump's advantage now is 115.000 votes.

370 - 115 - 180= 75.00 + advantage for Biden!

(when it's 60% Biden/ 40% Trump Biden has lost)

This of course rough and the votes still have to be counted.

Nevertheless I guess Trump would need a miracle now....

I never understood this tendency for old people in US.

According to the CDC, 13,000 a year, and only a tiny majority are for "medical" reasons.
https://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-b...ortions,and would be viable outside the womb

That's more than enough for concern I should think. One is too many. I know nurses who have lost their jobs because they won't assist at these procedures. Drs. refuse as well.

There are legitimate medical reasons for such abortions actually, one of the most common reasons cited is a lethal fetal anomaly. Secondly, some life-threatening conditions exist for the mother in many cases that result in an abortion.

McConnell (78) is older than Biden (77), but it's okay for McConnell to be that age, not the other way around. I am perplexed.

I linked to an article for a reason. The vast majority of such abortions performed AREN'T performed for those reasons. Understand?

So far as I am aware these are not permitted anywhere in western Europe except in cases of dire medical necessity.

I think USA for next 3 months will go 'auto-pilot'.
and after this it will enter a 'strange era' and next elections might be sooner than the typical time,

I am not a prophet.

USA presidential elections has become Boring,

3 Days counting votes. :sleepy:

in Australia , postal votes are not accepted a week out of the election, so have them in early, so your name can be crossed off and not get a fee for not voting ( voting is compulsory in Australia )...........they begin counting them a week out but do not tell anyone about the results until 6pm on election day ........a far better system than the USA..........

That sounds similar to Florida where the mail in ballots have to be in by Election day but they can start counting them long before then. My ballot was mail in on September 28th and was there is four days and they were already counting back then.

Steve Bannon was right about one thing. He said that the party which could unite the white working class and take half of the Hispanic vote and a significant portion of the black vote could be in control for decades. The only reason it hasn't happened is because Trump is personally a jerk with personality disorders who can't keep his mouth shut.

It's a squandered opportunity for the working people of this country and the lower middle class.

Bannon has already developed as a real Jacobine of this movement. As you well know these were during the French revolution the most radical, hardline revolutionaries and also biggest users of the guillotine.

Bannon:

“I’d actually like to go back to the old times of Tudor England. I’d put the heads on pikes. I’d put them at the two corners of the White House as a warning to federal bureaucrats,”

“You either get with the program or you’re gone ― time to stop playing games,” Bannon added. “Blow it all up.”

“That’s how you win the revolution,” Bannon said. “The revolution wasn’t some sort of garden party. It was a civil war.”

Laura Ingraham is advising trump to accept defeat with grace and composure. When Laura does that it is time to concede. But Biden has a long road ahead of him. The country is extremely divided and it will be hard to reunite towards a common goal. I think that both parties need to shed extreme elements of the left and the right and move towards the middle. They also need to take control of the parties platform from the presidential candidates who sometimes are a party onto themselves. The primaries as long drawn as they are have helped elevate the presidential candidates above the parties. They need to stop the demagogues like Trump and Sanders from highjacking the parties platform and what they stand for.

I don't know why you keep harping on Bannon. Are you under some misapprehension that I'm one of his supporters? Someone can have an insight into how a populism not based on race could arise and still be a loon. Sounds like he's losing his mind because of the election. That, or his well known problem with alcohol is getting the better of him.

I hate to tell you the bloodthirsty threats I've uttered against my husband, for example, in the heat of anger. Difference is I'm not a drunk, and I don't put it on twitter. :) Maybe Germanics only say things like that when they mean it, so you're not used to it?

This, on the other hand, is from a former government official, and seems quite well thought out. Twitter also seems to have no problem with it.

Caucus call between House Democrats:

"Spanberger on the Dem caucus call: We lost races we shouldn’t have lost. Defund police almost cost me my race bc of an attack ad. Don’t say socialism ever again. Need to get back to basics. (Is yelling.)

If we run this race again we will get ******* torn apart again in 2022, Spanberger says
We can be a big tent & still not allow in malcontent enemies of Democracy & pro-Marxist/Communist/Russian agents of chaos. That way lies the death of the Democratic party."

@bigsnake,

I have one small disagreement. I don't think Trump lost because of his "platform" pre-Covid. I think he lost because of the handling of Covid (scared seniors, suburban moms, for example), because of his personal qualities (this is huge), and because the riots and the policies of the big mouth "progressive" Democrats do not reflect the views of the majority of the American electorate. One can celebrate the latter or decry it, but that's the way it is.

No not because of you but you referred to him (without stating that you are a supporter, certainly not!). It's because that guy is intriguing to me.

And I don't think it's a slip of the tongue or being drunk (although that certainly can't be excluded ;) . But it fits too well in his mindset. Saw some interviews with him and I saw an excellent documentary about him: the American dharma.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7XvQW8HLnI

IMO don't underestimate that these kind of bloodthirsty thought are virulent on the extremest right, and in the US 2/3 of the terrorist attacks are from the proud boys kind of scene.

And indeed the Democratic Party has to be based on the intrest, concerns of ordinary people, simply as that. Biden (more than Clinton) understands that. IMO in some ways the US have to get back to a kind of 'soberness', 'normal' ' down to earth' or whatsoever. For the president must be covid (-crisis) not twitter the major concern!

(PS 'Maybe Germanics only say things like that when they mean it'' I don't know if it is only Germanics but sounds me I guess, sincerity was the norm @home and some say I'm pretty thoughtful, but but beneath that there is enough temper;)

He lost because he's an *******. He lost because people are tired of his rants and his attitude towards experts. He lost because he insisted that he knew better than the generals, better than the epidemiologists and better than the hurricane experts.

I think that if Trump had followed the advice of the CDC he would have won. 237,000 dead is a lot of people in 9 mos that we are not at war. He lost it because of his false bravado.

What I am afraid though is how much of the population is poisoned to think the worst of the other side. The conspiracy theory websites unfortunately have won. Too may political talk shows with their manufactured outrage. Manufactured outrage as a business is how we got here. I blame both sides for where we are as a country.

AP just called it for Biden. I hope he governs wisely, listens to the experts and the professionals and reaches across the aisle to moderate republicans and democrats and governs down the center. I hope he does look at the state of the country and does propose policies that address the concerns of Americans on both sides. Not the extremists but the great middle.

Here are the issues he needs to address first:

1. Covid-19. Show that he's doing it differently than before
2. Health care - Public option. Health should not be thought as a business but a service. It will probably lead to reductions in some doctors salaries which is already happening since a lot of the docs are becoming employees of hospital chains.
3. Shore up Medicare and Social Security. Need to address the fraud prevalent in the SSI program
4. Reduce defense expenses by reducing the number of big ticket items. We can not afford too many aircraft carriers they are sitting ducks against a barrage of cheap missiles. We need to to produce millions of inexpensive drones and missiles
5. China - Need to convince companies to move their supply chains to the US or Mexico or other counties in Central America
6. Russia - Need to limit their influence world wide
7. Need to pass a minimum tax for companies as well as individuals. Some of them don't pay any taxes. I DGAF how many losses and tax shelters you have, we need to have a minimum tax commensurate with income/revenue.
8. Climate change - We need to keep going on that front. The market is doing a good job with that on the electric utility side but we need to keep going with transportation. Tax breaks for companies like UPS and Fedex to replace their delivery trucks with electric. Same thing with service trucks like electricians and HVAC, etc, businesses that have their trucks return to a depot every night. Replace long distance 18 wheelers with electric and transport most freight by train.

My daughter is telling me that there is partying in the streets of NYC.

if it wasn't for the covid19
in my opinion trump would have won biden
while walking ....
because the economy was not bad before the covid 19
but he did acted like an idiot and people couldn't ignore it .....
he will first fight in court
and i think he will come back to battle in next election in 4 more years
65 milion people chosed him ......

p.s
my family in usa voted for trump
although most jews are like 75% democrats
