Hello
On wikipedia written in Polish,I have found a very nice article, about bees keeping at Ancient Slavs:
https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barć
It is also mentioned there about a discovery from 100-200 AD,of some kind of primitive hive, attributed to Ancient Slavs.
It also worth mentioning that in Old Church Slavonic bear is medvedi which clearly comes from medu (honey) in OCS,
which means "honey eater".
Those who knows about wildlife and the habits of bears, would know that bears love most to eat honey.
And that bears are going to eat honey from wild bees ,even if they would get some bites, from the bees.
I am not Polish speaker,I just used google translate,to understand about that.
