Too many different results. East Mongolians make up like 9/10 out of Mongolia's population where as West Mongolians ( a Turkic region ) make up only 1/10.

Who's the real Mongolians? east or west ?

I keep seeing different Caucasian DNA results for Mongolians. Some studies shows them ranging only 1-5%, 1-7%, 5-10%, 5-19%.

We all know that Mongolians have caucasian admixture, most came from the female Caucasian ancestry at 13.55% to 14.3%. However on race Mongols from the east are 93-99% Mongoloid while west are only 84-89% Mongoloid. Long before the Mongol empire the Mongolian already subjugated a caucasian tribe from the east kazakhstan/west mongolia during the Rouran khaganate.

Of course they are not the only Mongoloid Asians with non-Mongoloid admixture in Asia. For example the Thais and Cambodian are even more mixed, both being only 78-83% Mongoloid. Like the Cambodians are mixed with South Indian ( Dravidian ) while Thais have both Dravidian, North Indian Caucasian and Negrito admixture so real pure Mongoloid are only Chinese, Korean, Japanese while the Southeast Asians, Mongolians, Siberians, Central Asians are mixed.

who was the caucasian tribe?

Andronovo people of Kazakhstan. The Mongolians tribes already conquered parts of central Asia long before before the time of Genghis Khan.
The regions of western Mongolia was also historically conquered.

The Rouran Khanagante in 500 AD, parts of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan was under it and this was before Turkic tribes even ruled and migrated Central Asia in 600 AD

Before Turkic and Mongolian even even conquered Central Asia. It was inhabited by aboriginal/indegenious Indo-Europeans like Andronovo people

The people from Kazakhstan looked like these. The Chinese reported the invasion of Rouran Mongolic tribes on the western tribes and subjugated them.

4 ka Andronovo R1a-Z93 reached Altaï mountains
local tribes became nomadic herders and learned about metallurgy, Q, N1c, C2
Q-M120 and later Yuezhi R1a-Z93 entered China via Gansu corridor
on the steppe there were federations of mixed tribes : Donghu and Xiongnu
from both some tribes moved south, Donghu to southern Manchuria and Inner Mongolia, Xiongnu to Ordos loop
Xiongnu beat Donghu 208 BC, only 2 tribes of Donghu survived, Wuhuan and Xianbei
Yuezhi were beaten by Donghu ca 180 BC
southern Xiongnu was beaten by Han Chinese ca 120 BC
northern Xiongnu was beaten by Xianbei ca 155 AD
Xianbei are supposed proto-Mongolians
