Obervellach [Austria]. Okay if Austrian or German but I'm British of Romanichal (probable cause for drift) ancestry.

It gave me 47°09'07.0"N 22°21'20.6"E
Northwest Romania

I was born in northeast Bosnia, so fairly close.
And pretty much all those population admixture calculators on GEDmatch mostly say I'm closest to Hungarian, then Croatian, Romanian, Bulgarian. And these coordinates are just east of Hungary.

North east Bosnia and north west Romania ....not that close

Well thats what it calculated. And I didn't say it was VERY close. It's about 2 latitudes north and east distance...not extremely far either. That same distance to the southeast direction would be in southeast Serbia.

Hmm interesting.... I got 52.859904766,2.3159769500000067 and that drops me right in the channel between northern East Anglia and Frisia in the East... so around Doggerland lol? I'm of mostly British Isles (mainly Scots-Irish and Irish) heritage with some German and Baltic/Northern German from Pennsylvania ;). I also share a bunch of SNPs under U106 with the Romano-British "Gladiator or soldier" skeleton 6drif-3 from 6 Driffield Terrace cemetery SW of York (Eboracum!). As far as I can understand it... looking at the map legend for mileage etc... I place about 150 to 200 miles (241km to 321km) from Eboracum/York... though I don't know how much to "read" into this... but at least it's in the neck of the woods so-to-speak!

Cheers!

Mine is in the neck of the Transylvanian woods....this must be why I've always wanted to drink blood, stay up all night and sleep during the day. But I don't mind garlic, I love it actually.

Who else got Vampire ancestry? Anyone here from Romania try this thing, or anyone at all end up somewhere in Romania?

In fact many southern Europeans and Greeks are born in the open sea, as known they are sea creatures.

Lmao. Mine had me in the water off the coast of Spain.

I did and I ended up in Mehedinti county, whereas my ancesrty is from Iasi county. That's around 460km apart, which is quite far IMO. It definitely needs some calibration for Southeast Europe, i.e. Greeks end up in the sea, Albanians probably too and Bulgarians would plot South in Greece.

So it put you in the opposite direction and nearly same distance of my calibration... weird.

Well the Greeks, Albanians, Italians etc are surrounded by the sea more but clearly it's a little out of whack and some of these should end up further north.
Or their ancestors were really good at swimming and living under water with Poseidon.

I noticed that too. South East Europe needs calibration.

So it placed me 545km away from the place of birth, which is also the place of birth of most of my ancestors. It placed me instead on the border of Poland and Belarus

Zoomed it a bit on England. Results are from Ancestry tests put into GEDmatch and run through EurogenesK36.

Spain??? That's pretty ridiculous considering where you're from.

lol I know right? When someone else ran mine again I ended up in Egypt. So I take it this thing is not really accurate at all. My father was in the water near Spain as well.

You must have entered it wrong if you get different places entering your info in multiple times. It's just a calculator, you get the same coordinates everytime with the same info.

My results ended up about 800 km off the target. All ancestry in Central Norway, and the results landed in northern Doggerland, Close to Denmark. My Brother's k36 result landed on same spot even!
