Hello, my mtdna is (probably) H2a2a1f. I am from the Near East. What are its origins? I saw in the familytreedna mtdna H group, that the carriers of the H2a2a haplogroup are mostly Europeans.

Hey Raspberry!
I am also H2a2a1f, confirmed with LivingDna and James Lick Haplogroup Analysis. You are the first one I have found with my group :)
My mtdna line is from Wales, not sure before the 1800 though. From what I can find on it it's not that common a subclade and the mutation is no older than the 1300's (14th century) and that it is an ancestral haplogroup. So technically we should share the same ancestor of no later than the 14th century. Interesting! :)
Hi I’m also H2a2a1f! I’ve completed FamilyTreeDNA 2years ago and only four MT matches to this haplogroup. I’m 50% Scot’s, Irish and Wales. 25% English 20% Iberian Peninsula competition with 5% Scandinavia. My brother’s yDNA Haplogroup R-A431 60% Scot’s, Irish, Wales. 30% English. 8% Iberian Peninsula. 2%East Europe. Looking forward to input from others!
Later / earlier you know what I meanBasically the mutation happened around 1300. So we share a common ancestor maybe from the 1300's or maybe even the 1800's! Who knows
Are you on Gedmatch? So we can compare and see if there is a DNA link.
You can PM me your gedmatch ID and I can check it. I used my Family Tree DNA autosomal file to see my clade of the haplogroup H. There were some errors (because the calculator is not made for FTdna raw data) but the calculator (James Lick´s) said that it is a good fit (and it was the best fit). Currently I am only tested positive for haplogroup H.
Just sent you a PM
I'm going to guess you dowloaded your genome since you have Gedmatch results listed from what it looks like. Did you try Lick's calculator? It's pretty good at telling you how certain it is that you belong to a specific haplogroup. And from what I saw, I agree with Kitbluee that h2 is much more eastern, covering eastern europe and central asia.
Hi Kitbluee, we've PM'd on Anthrogenica regarding the H2a2a1 haplogroup (I have an even more unoriginal username there! Sorry, bad joke). I signed up over here just to see what else is going on especially since the other site is down right now. Have you tried the K29 calculator on Geneplaza? That's the one that Kurd has been making. The revamp had an interesting result on my admixture. It gave me 8.6% Central Asian. That's about double what I have seen on any other calculator. I'll take that percentage with a grain of salt, but given what I know about his methods, that's probably real. Now, the interesting question is if that has anything to do with me being H2a2a1 or are these two separate mysteries.
