Society Europe is racist

Imperialism, slavery, oppression, and violence—the sins with which the West has been saddled—are common to all civilizations; the industrial revolution, scientific medicine, the symphony orchestra—these benefits and countless others are exclusive creations of the West. To ignore this manifest reality requires a credence in coincidence verging on superstition. - See more at: https://home.isi.org/stark-truth-about-western-civilization#sthash.0cHw9w3A.dpuf

Pillars of European civilization:
-Greek philosophy
-Roman law
-Judeo-Christianity

To what extent do migrants carry their culture with them, and to what extent do they acquire
the culture of their new home? The answer not only has important political implications; it also helps us
understand the extent to which basic cultural values are enduring or malleable; and whether cultural
values are traits of individuals or are attributes of a given society.

Weird how the supposed pillars of European civilization either stem from Europe's periphery or are altogether non-European.

The Nazis noticed that too; that's why they tried to assert that the Greeks and Romans were really Nordics and why they planned to eradicate Christianity. They thought they could substitute some mumbo-jumbo "Teutonic" gods, but the new religion would really be the state.

Facts can be very inconvenient things. When that happens some people try to distort them.

I find it both ironic and amusing that Neo-Nazis are faced with the same dilemma but don't quite realize it.

European values started to develop 600 years ago with the renaisance when free minds started to clash with the religious establishment.
Sure, it's just entered mainstream culture, the simple citizen, about 100 years ago, and in some places just in last generation.
None of the traits of what you lable 'old Europe' have been exclusively or specificaly European traits.
And who said they were just exclusively European? Sleep easy, Europe is not the worse in this department. The point is that we have to repeat how it used to be in Europe, because some people are confused these days.

It is not weird at all. Places in the south of Europe are closer to Anatolia and, thus, among the first to experience Neolithic transition. Furthermore, during that time, those places in the south were the most advanced in all aspects compared to the northern part. This continued in the years to come. Remember also Byzantium (Eastern Roman Empire)--the only empire that could be called Rome after the sack of Rome by the barbarians.

In addition, the name Europe itself is given by the Greeks. There's no way--well, actually there are some who do--one could imagine Europe without Greece, or Italy. It just does not make sense. Those countries are the basis of the edifice called, Europa.

Well, I knew that Hitler did not want to attack Greece in the first place. Perhaps, if he had not done so, they would be able to go to Russia during the summer time.

I always thought the Nazis were Christians. You see, they had this classical German cross (I forget its name). Plus, Teutons participated in the crusades and were fierce warriors of Christ. But then again, I also heard (perhaps this is just conspiracy theory), that they were trying to find a place called Thule, or something like that.

The Nazis noticed that too; that's why they tried to assert that the Greeks and Romans were really Nordics and why they planned to eradicate Christianity.

Marko was being ironic.

As to the Nazis and Christianity:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Nazi_Germany

"There was some diversity of personal views among the Nazi leadership as to the future of religion in Germany. Anti-Church radicals included Hitler's Personal Secretary Martin Bormann, Minister for Propaganda Joseph Goebbels, Neo-Pagan Nazi Philosopher Alfred Rosenberg, and Neo-Pagan Occultist Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler. Some Nazis, such as Hans Kerrl, who served as Hitler's Minister for Church Affairs pushed for "Positive Christianity", which was a uniquely Nazi form which rejected its Jewish origins and the Old Testament, and portrayed "true" Christianity as a fight against Jews.[4]Nazism wanted to transform the subjective consciousness of the German people—their attitudes, values and mentalities—into a single-minded, obedient "national community". The Nazis believed they would therefore have to replace class, religious and regional allegiances.[5] "

"Hitler's Propaganda Minister, Joseph Goebbels, saw an "insoluble opposition" between the Christian and Nazi world views.[26] The Fuehrer angered the churches by appointing Alfred Rosenberg, an outspoken pagan, as official Nazi ideologist in 1934.[27] Heinrich Himmler saw the main task of his Schutzstaffel (SS) organization to be that of acting as the vanguard in overcoming Christianity and restoring a "Germanic" way of living.[28] Hitler's chosen deputy, Martin Bormann, advised Nazi officials in 1941 that "National Socialism and Christianity are irreconcilable."[27]

Hitler himself possessed radical instincts in relation to the conflict with the Churches in Germany. Though he occasionally spoke of wanting to delay the Church struggle and was prepared to restrain his anti-clericalism out of political considerations, his "own inflammatory comments gave his immediate underlings all the license they needed to turn up the heat in the Church Struggle, confident that they were 'working towards the Fuhrer,'" according to Kershaw.[26]"

for those who want to know the Athenean constitution by Aristotelis

you can hear it in English here

https://archive.org/details/constitution_of_athens_ge_librivox

you read it here

http://oll.libertyfund.org/titles/aristotle-constitution-of-athens

indeed worths every minute you spend,
cause it contains the true spirit, of rights and obligations of a citizen, as also the true power that citizen can have (exostrakismos)

well although Makedonian, i do consider Makedonian system more effective at war times,
but Athenean as more fair to run a city-state by citizens, (no nobility extra priviledges)

Just an example of such unconscious racism is to look at Eurovision: only European / white countries come to the contest (allowing also "white" colonies as Israel or Australia to come), but keeps away Qatar, China or Khazakstan.

Unconscious racism may still be an issue in Europe but Europeans in general do not openly discriminate against non-Europeans. Eurovision may include China or Khazakstan in the near future and both countries are applying for the membership in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). I'm particularly concerned about Eurovision's political stance on Ukraine. By excluding Russia from Eurovision, it's fanning anti-Russian sentiment or Russophobia in Europe.

Imperialism, slavery, oppression, and violence—the sins with which the West has been saddled—are common to all civilizations.

Racism in Britain is relatively mild compared to what you experience in her former colonies such as Australia or South Africa. The degree of racist attitudes in Europe is on a par with that of Japan, which was an imperial power, while you would encounter with more blatant racism in these former colonies, where colonial racism is still present to some extent. Historically, racial segregation was only imposed in her colonies and there was none in mainland Britain.

Russian broadcaster Channel One will not broadcast the Eurovision Song Contest next month because the country's singer has been barred from host country Ukraine.
Russia's decision removes any chance of it competing this year, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) said.
Ukraine is refusing to allow Julia Samoilova to perform at Eurovision because she has visited Crimea, the peninsula seized by Russia in 2014.
The EBU has condemned the ban.
It says Ukraine is undermining the non-political nature of the contest.
The union, which produces Eurovision, said it had offered two possible solutions to Channel One. The proposals were for Ms Samoilova to perform via satellite from Russia or for another contestant to be allowed to travel to Ukraine to take her place.

I don't really agree that it is language that is causing all these problems in the EU. Take Turkey for example, I think religion is the biggest problem. I think this is the major reason why they are not accepted to be a member of the EU.

Other than that the border, I don't think the EU like the idea of being neighbours with radical muslims.

I don't think Europeans accept Turkish as Europeans, they don't see Turkish culture as an European one. There is also economy, geography and politics.

With other European countries I think it is mostly culture, and economics. The rest yes but less of a problem.

Europe has also nationalism which can be confused with racism. Different languages means that Europeans study different national histories. The same historical event is interpreted differently. Let say Roman Empire is seen as a great thing by those not affected, but not necessarily Egyptians see it as a good thing. Its like present day English see their Empire as a civilization builder, but Indians see them as exploiters. European histories have many contradictory histories like that, which are taught at school, and this is where misunderstandings about other people rise. The Idea of Europe is not simply race, its mostly culture, which is to say tolerance, celebration of nudity, participation in art and science, liberalism, celebration of women's power etc.. Turkey does not share many of this values that's why they are seen as intruders in European culture. Religion plays a role as well.

Europeans use to think that their countries are democratic, tolerant, advanced, humanist and so on. The reality is that the big ones in Europe keep their neocolonialism through corrupting governments in underdeveloped countries, and common Europeans don't care much about the semi-slavist companies mading their shoes or wear in such countries.

That's so normal that few people cares about neocolonialism or modern slaving.
"Corrupting governments", heard for so many times that we are the responsible of corruption in the 3rd World. But corruption keeps being rampant in certain parts of the world, and the 'root of the Evil' is nowhere close in corruption levels.
But corruption and slavery are because of 'neocolonialism'...

For someone to argue racism has no special relation to Europeans/whites they'd have to ignore 100s of years of European imperialism/colonization which involved a lot of racism. To me it seems Angela and others might be going that route. Racism does have a special relation to Europeans.
No. Racism, as well as sexism, or any other bad quality, is a sentiment that can arise in any person, any people...
Why should we consider you the good one because you are at the bottom of the pyramid?

For example, racism keeps being rampant among US Blacks, they're obsessed with race. Even though racism is not really their problem today. Their problem is economic, everybody talks with them, befriend them, they can be with whites and its mm's absolutely normal...
But they don't talk that much about oportunities, they keep talking about race...

Xenophobia and racism are not exclusive to certain countries or continents. In my country, Uruguay, we boast of being tolerant, and we sometimes complain about some episodes of rejection towards our compatriots in some countries. But in recent years, we have had a significant migration from Caribbean countries (Cuba, Venezuela, Dominican Republic) ... and there are occasional episodes of rejection towards them.

I couldn't agree with you more; in my experience far eastern countries like Japan and China, for example, are far more racist than Europeans, and openly so.

We should just acknowledge that it exists but should be eradicated. No matter the differences between "races", or "continental breeding groups", which is lately used by some population geneticists, there is no conceivable reason or excuse for treating one group of people as "less than" another, or denying them the basic human rights. It's immoral and counter-productive for the world as a whole, and it has to stop.

Even though most of Europeans are not racist,European capitalism is definitely the most racist capitalist system on earth.Other racist system are derived from European capitalist racism.

We now have an inversion of this very concept you put forward; woke capitalism, which some would say is racist against Europeans.

‘Woke’ Corporations Use the Chinese Model

They make a profit and suppress dissent at the same time.

Says someone, who, if he is to believed, is from the most racist area(s) on the planet.

Also, last time I checked, Japan was a capitalist country; in fact, they hold the record for how quickly they switched to capitalism. Of course, they definitely had a racist, capitalist system. I mean, why do you think they invaded Southeast Asia, and treated the people there like slaves? Their behavior even in China was horrific.

Strange that someone from the far east is ignorant of all this history.

Do we have another sock here? No surprise if so, as the site seems to be full of them. They're the ones posting most frequently. What a mess.
