What movie have you watched lately

Avengers: Endgame
Awesome and Entertaining!

Movie Theater with Fantastic Reclining Chairs with tables + food.

Someone I don't know sitting next to me Freaked-Out, and she spilled a fruit salad tray on my pants. She’s still apologizing. LOL

Well, it's a series, not a movie, but...

I'm watching Chernobyl on HBO. I hate to say it, but I have to force myself to keep watching it. I find it confusing and terrifying/depressing in equal measure.

That's it; I can't keep watching this thing. If I took my blood pressure last night, the gauge would probably have exploded like the freaking core of the reactor. Incompetence and cowardice married to total blind adherence to ideology leading to the eventual death of all those innocents practically set my hair on fire. I wanted to reach back in time and haul all of the scientists, all the way up the chain and all the stupid party bureaucrats and put them in front of a firing squad!

Well, after a full, HONEST, trial, of course. :)

A hospital a mile from a nuclear reactor doesn’t stock iodine pills? The nurse knew they should have had them. Firemen going to put out a fire at a reactor don’t have protective gear? Their instruments for measuring true radiation are locked in a safe to which they’ve lost the key? Why, anyway, wouldn't all their gauges measure the TRUE radiation?Townspeople so ignorant they let their children play in nuclear dust? Oh, and a manager who is told repeatedly there is no more core and it has totally blown up refuses to believe it, and spends the rest of the time in shock meekly doing what he is told. Then, to cap it all off, the Party people say it’s not dangerous; we can’t evacuate the people in surrounding villages because it not only would start a panic but would put Soviet Socialism in disrepute. What’s the reaction? Absolute submission. Ideology beats everything.

Incredible. It’s like the Three Stooges running a nuclear reactor. This was a country with hundreds of nuclear weapons? Thank God they’ve been decommissioned. They had no idea what they were doing.

What was that report which said most of their technology just flat out didn't work, but they were so afraid of the party bosses that they just falsified the reports?

I’m not saying accidents couldn’t happen anywhere, because they do, but they really were astoundingly inept. I can’t imagine that the French reactors are run so incompetently. As for our cock ups with this kind of technology, what I used to think was horrific doesn't hold a candle to this.

I think it is neither a sci-fi movie nor a distopic one, but a metaphor about our society:

Spoiler warning! better to see after had watched the movie:

More of the same kind of "1984"

These two films are dark and hard to watch, but I'll put some more easy to enjoy...

Full remastered and retouched movie for free. 1911 L'inferno. I think it would be better if you mash the volume button down

Periodically I need to see the whole Il Marchese del Grillo (The Marquis of Grillo), because it's a powerful antidepressant: "'nnamo, quando se scherza bisogna esse seri!" (=come on, when you joke you have to be serious!) :)

With the Epstein episode in Washington in the news, I watched Clue from Amazon videos... where everyone involved in government was doing bad things and being blackmailed. Ingenious story plot.

The dining room scene in 'Clue' explains Washington 101. For if you can't be blackmailed, you are not wanted in any position of power.

Republicans in Washington wanted nothing to do with Epstein because it was a rumor in Republican circles that Epstein's prostitution ring was a Mossad operation.

Similarly, DC is on edge. “Epstein bragged about his contacts in Washington,” Boies said. Reporters are likely to dig into why the Justice Department decided not to prosecute Epstein and kept the deal secret from his victims. One theory circulating among prominent Republicans is that Epstein was a Mossad agent. Another is that the George W. Bush White House directed Acosta not to prosecute Epstein to protect Prince Andrew on behalf of the British government, then the U.S.’s closest ally in the Iraq war.

'Clue' is about those being blackmailed wanting the blackmailer and everyone who knows about the crimes, dead. And one comment by the character Mr Green... half of Washington would be implicated if Miss Scarlet's prostitution ring was exposed, so she was in no real danger. This is how Epstein felt protected. The more who partake, the more protection.

I would like to watch 'Murder by Death'. As we get closer to September and cooler days, popcorn with murder mysteries is a must.

It's not new, but Bagdad Cafe is a good movie, full of mood and a slow thoughtful pace. CCH Pounder is, as usual, wonderful. It falls apart at the end, as so many movies do, but up until then there is a strange, beautiful feel to it, greatly due to the music (vocals) that accompanies it. I watch it at least once a year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCLpLWcX2cg
