I don't think so. At the end of the day, pandemics are a way for nature to bring balance to highly increased populations.
fears for pandemics have been very lucrative for the pharmaceutical industry a few times in the last decades
but none of these pandemics realy happened
highly increased populations we do have nowadays
however I think reduced immuum systems due to hyper hygienic conditions in the west are also becoming a threat
