I'm looking for any information on MT DNA U1A1. Both sides of my family are from Sicily and despite lots of searching, I have yet to find any real information on this haplotype. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there Frankie, welcome to Eupedia. I did some searching and apparently somebody here was also wondering the same thing a year ago. Apparently this Mtdna is really rare Here is Wikipedia's description of Mtdna U1. :) Considering Mtdna U1 is also found in India, it is a likely possibility that your direct Maternal line comes from the Yamna Horizon. My father maternal side are Dyson's from Louisiana. His father's family is from Denmark. Would I know more than this?
