I was wondering how autosomally diverse human and loosely defined human populations really are and were.
Do we know how genetically different/distant population groups are to each other? Is any of these distances remotely comparable to any group's distance from Neanderthals or Denisovans? For example, Native Americans have some of the highest Neanderthal ancestry percentages I think, and they are most distant from Africans. Is their genetic distance to Africans even comparable to their distance to Neandethals? How does variation among WHG and Steppe or EEF compare? I've read plenty of papers that reveal distances between these groups two by two, but none that includes all or most. So if you know any studies that calculate genetic differences between different human groups past or present, as well as Neanderthals & Denisovans, please post a link or a description. Thank you!
