In Italy it's celebrated as the Feast of St. John the Baptist with processions, blessings and benedictions at the sea for cities like Genova, and then at night huge fireworks displays and bonfires. I have to say I'm a ****** for both. Something very primal about watching a huge bonfire burn on a summer night.
