Old romanian music: Lelita Saftita

Interesting! Women seem to be almost men,in a military dance. Do women just lack the knife to get rid of male competitors? loool .... I'm just kidding! Very nice!

You just cannot trust them with a knife .

Judging by the quality of the video, the picture is not very clear. But the content is great. I like it.

Tamburica instrument, traditional folk music of Slavonia region in Croatia.
My region.
Also my favorite song, I can cry on this one.

"Dad was tall as an old wallnut tree,
when he goes through the village
all the bećars in front of him
take off their hats speedily,
so they wouldn't anger him.

Mom cursed him,
half of the village cursed him,
so he wouldn't touch other peoples wives
for some time.
Muhh, who would calm him down?
He lived his own way.

More and more I look like my father,
and everything I have, I'll give to the tamburica players.
When they ask me what's dear to my heart, I'll say
play that one "I love you Slavonia!"

One time he came home at a late time, and said
for the last time I've walked the streets tonight and
kissed other peoples wives.

In his soft lap he put me, took me and told me
My son, my blood, I've gained everything honestly,
but now I have to go and mow the heavenly fields

More and more I look like my father,
and everything I have, I'll give to the tamburica players.
When they ask me what's dear to my heart, I'll say
Play that one! "I love you Slavonia!"

Mom found him in the field,
like he was sleeping,
on soft soil a hard head drooping,
he chased the horses on the skies,
he died where he was born.

I still look at the old wallnut tree,
with autumn like it's talking:
My dear son, bećar while you want to,
but always say proudly I love you Slavonia!

More and more I look like my father,
and everything I have, I'll give to the tamburica players.
When they ask me what's dear to my heart, I'll say
Play that one! "I love you Slavonia!""

Some really great stuff here, thanks!

(calusarii dance, which is pretty neat)
