Where does the Albanian language come from? [VIDEO]

The earliest inscription referencing Albanopolis, who Albanians get their name from, was found in Gorno Sonje in Macedonia.

Inhabitants of Albanopolis mentioned in the inscription.

Posis = Greek name
Mestylu = Thracian name
Delus = rare name appearing only in Dardania, Paeonia, Macedonia
Mucati = Thracian name

No Illyrian names

Just made this model on the fly. Notice if you see Western vis a vis Eastern Balkans it doesn't mean to be taken literally, it can mean somewhere in between as well.

Notice how i can envision that I10946 geographically wise came from somewhere more South-Western than I10950 who lived somewhere more North-East than than I10946. But, Pannonia on general is the best bet.

The old company DnaTribes ( not running anymore as owner has died ) had me as ancient North-Caucasus to ancient North-Pannonia ( before going to ancient alpine area )

There's a 2007 paper on the Greek colonisation of Italy, but mostly focuses on Tarento. They do mention this though

"There is also a variety of imports among thepottery finds. To the first phase of occupationbelong fragments of Corinthian type A amphorae, and even a piece of ‘Devoll ware’ (fig. 47c) thatwas imported from what is now Albania. Otherimports originate from eastern Greece" - Greek colonists and indigenous populations at L'Amastuola, southern Italy (2007; with G.J. Burgers)

Mr.Hammond in his 1967 book mentions Devoll ware as Mycenean in northern-Epirus ...............it was confirmed by Frano Prendi later as correct ( I think mr. Prendi is an albanian archeologist )

what latest news do you have ?

Messappi traded with Epirus for pottery beginning circa 440BC ..............while the Daunians kept trading for pottery with Northern Croatian lands

Delus Mucati sound very Albanian to me.

Delo is still used in south Albania. It seems that this names has survived from that time.

Dardanians may be mixed with other non illyrian tribes but J-L283 from dardania is illyrian related I thought

The main difference is that the Thracian and other non-Illyrian influences reached a much higher and more influential level than in any "proper Illyrians". Similarly, the neighbouring Thracian Triballi, largely associated with the Basarabi successor culture of Ferigile (with Scythian influences) had stronger Illyrian influences than the average Thracians had.
They were both at the borderzone of the two spheres.

Compare the territory of the Dardani, which being squeezed between Illyrians and Daco-Thracians:
1280px-Praevalitana_in_the_Roman_Emp.jpg

With the Triballi:
Map_of_Triballi_tribe_%28English%29.jpg

600px-Triballi_territory.jpg

Obviously the borderline between Thracian and Illyrian influence was blurred in the Central Balkans. And its just that this blurred borderzone is the likeliest place of origin for Albanians, because they obviously got both influences and probably a third one too (R-Z2103 in that zone might be Greco-Armenian-Phrygian or Paeonian related?).

The Illyrians proper without Channelled Ware/Basarabi/Thracian influence will likely turn out all J-L283 with potentially some minor local (J2a, G2, R-Z2103?) and minor Tumulus culture/Celtic R-L51 influences. But the bulk of the combined E-V13 and R-Z2103 cries for something more Eastern/Northern and the borderzone, not Illyria proprie dicti.

R-Z2103 in that zone might be Greco-Armenian-Phrygian or Paeonian related?

To add to your post, what I find interesting, and that tends to be overlooked, is that the Iran_Hasanlu_IA (and 1 Hajji-Firruz-IA) samples have quite a few of R-Z2103>L-584>R-Y19434*, same clades with the Urartian and Armenian-BA and IA samples, which would imply there was relationship between the Armenian/Hurrian/Medes?

If there is an ancient Greek Z2103 to be found of similar branching, then a Greco-Medean-Armenian relationship would be established.

Mitanni and Medes being Iranians, so I rather think they picked these earlier steppe groups up, like Cimmerians also, rather than having a particularly close relationship. We see the Scythians in particular to have picked up a lot of other people and create a lot of mixed groups. Some just assimilated the Scythians and formed their own, only partially Scythianised culture, like the Thracians of the East Carpathians in particular. So I think this is rather due to an assimilation process. But that's just my personal opinion on the issue.

100,000 basarabi where hired by Philip V of Macedonia to defend Macedonia from the Dardanians ........when these macedonian-dardanian wars finalised, the Basarabi dispersed and many went to the inland area of Praevalitana .............

Dardanians where still present in the Imperial Roman times policies while the Illyrians where not ( split into 4 groups ) .........

Dardanians are Illyrian. We have samples from northern "North Macedonia" and they plot identical to Illyrians, not Thracians. In fact, so do western Macedonians and Kukes (which borders Kosovo).

Those Iron Age Thracians are a very "Aegean-like"/southeastern people and were clearly not some superpower like some here want to think for their own agendas. Thracians genetically are a Greco-Anatolian-type people, even if linguistically they're not.

We only have samples from the South Eastern (Psenichevo-related) Thracians which quite obviously mixed extensively with Aegean-Anatolian locals and neighbours. We don't know how e.g. the Basarabi and Ferigile (Triballi) culture bearers looked like autosomally. We have no samples as of yet. I would assume that the local (non-Roman, non-Dacian, non-South Eastern Thracian) Thracian-Celtic element in and around Viminacium could be interesting, once we get these samples and hopefully more from the Serbian research group.

But what we can say for sure is that they will be more Northern, and therefore less different from Illyrians. How much so we don't know, but that this is the case is practically for sure. Because even if they would have expanded from the Lower Danube with Stamped Pottery to occupy these regions, what is doubtful, because I think they rather came from the Tisza-K?r?s region and Southern Romania, they would have presumably mixed with the locals and diluted the South Eastern ancestry in the Central Balkans to some degree.

I lost IQ reading some of the posts from paleorevenge, a dozen more and I might end up agreeing with him.

Stop drawing like you just discovered crayons.
First understand what a PCA is and what are the limitations, clean your PCA up then search for the patterns.
You are drawing lines from Albania EBA to Albania mdv without sense or logic.
First the move is on the Yamnaya - Balkan CHL axis which brings the paleoBalkan samples such as MNELBA, MKDanc, ALBMBA/anc to an intermediary position between ALBEBA and ALBNCHL
Then post antiquity the axis of admixture changes, between the Slavic and the East Med components.

As can be seen these are the very conclusions of the Southern Arc Paper.
These two axis between Yamnaya - Balkans Chl, then between East Med and Slavic is exactly what allows modern Albanians to cluster with ancient samples from the region since the MBA (By the time the outlier ALB_EBA intermixed with ALB_Chl).

Now please stop using your crayons and posting gibberish, enough IQ lost for the day.

It's not just that but he is using Davidski G25 Albanian average which I believe contains only like 11 Albanian samples unless I am wrong. Those Albanian samples are also not more south, this guy obviously doesn't know how to read a PCA Map.

These Illyrian samples found in Roman Croatia overlap with Iron Age Western Balkans, Medieval / Post Medieval Albania and modern Albanians
