Italian Wolfdog (Hybrid) (Lupo Italiano)

The breed is protected by Presidential decree stipulating that this Italian 'State' dog can not be commercialized nor bred outside the officially recognized agency,

For over 15 years the Italian State Forestry Corps has used this wolf-dog hybrid as their main working dog.

Lupus ibericus

It is practically extinct throughout the national territory and where it is many times is because it has been introduced again.

Here in Spain there is also the dog-wolf and there are many legends and mysteries around him.
The shepherds tied a female dog in heat to get a wolf to mate with her. If a male wolf came only the system worked but if with the wolf came also a female wolf attacked the female dog to kill it.

It is said that hybrid puppies would develop like dogs and some would become a wolf so they had to be sacrificed.

Iberian wolves furrowing the ancestral lands of Iberia.

Here there are wolf dog breeders but basically they use the German Shepherd in the hybridization.

No. An uncle of mine had one when I was a child. I have had big breed dogs but now is not the time, they are for many years and it is necessary to be clear. The hound above all is the most popular, my brother has 10 podencos and even the handle. The water dog is easy to see, the greyhound also. The Alans very hard I think most do not even know them, I've seen Dogo one in my life and the Alano my uncle had. Perhaps in a few years they have become better known, it is possible.
I have two Belgian Malinois females, here at 9 months

Prior i used to had larger breeds like this Sarplaninac,it is a Balkan shepherd dog

Spectacular dogs. Here is some Malinois.

The Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz (Andalusian wine-cellar rat-hunting dog) is a Spanish breed of dog of the terrier type. Its name reflects its main occupation: hunting rats and mice hidden between barrels in the wineries of Andalusia in Spain. It was recognised as an indigenous Spanish breed in 2000 by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture and by the Spanish Kennel Club, the Real Sociedad Canina de España.

Those dogs seem rather similar to Dobermans and German Shepherds with those highly alert ears. Appears to be a highly intelligent dog. Much more intelligent than my puggle!!

^^I know live and live the Andalusian wine-cellar rat-hunting dog, which is on the previous page. The Valencian reminds me a lot of the pinscher, but I've never seen him live.

Mastín español. Spanish mastiff

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Mastiff

In the Iberian peninsula the mastiff appeared in especially rural areas, based on livestock, both shelf and nomadic, although the sector in which acquired more fame was in the transhumance that ran the peninsula from north to south, probably following customs that went back to the migrations of wild herbivores.

Observe the resemblance to Leon, the mastiff of 1903. Both with the ears amputated.

1916. Mastin of D. Felipe Trigo, Extremadura physician and writer accompanied by his daughter. Beautiful mastin painted with black spots on both sides of the head, as I said before this is a trait that is only property of the Pyrenean mastiff when we see that the mastiff, in general, always had these spots. Another example of how it has been and is the mastiff in different times and different provinces. Nothing to do with what is the official mastiff now

1950.+Zufre+(Huelva)+a%C3%B1os+50.jpg

1950. Zufre (Huelva) From one end of Spain to another. From the little that is seen, the mastiffs have impressive shapes, with shoulders, chest and trunk that transmit power, strength. We should not confuse this with size or volume of more. It is difficult to find large and compact mastiffs.

It looks like a dog but it's not a dog. Coyote in my ‘hood (Dangerous especially for Kids, cats and dogs. Pets don’t stand a chance, generally.)

It blends in with the environment.

(Lost Dog signs the day after) :(

The golden jackal advances through Europe and already crosses the Alps

The species, which was isolated until half a century ago in isolated enclaves of the Balkans, has been observed for the first time in France

Its only limits seem to be the intense snows and the stable presence of wolves

The Slovenian specialist does not even rule out that the golden jackal can extend other territories of western Europe, including southern Italy, France and Spain, "except in areas where there is deep snow and stable presence of the wolf."

Mastín del Pirineo. Pyrenean Mastiff

The Pyrenean Mastiff is a Spanish herd-keeping breed originally from the Aragonese Pyrenees. It is included within the group, section 3ª molosos of the mountain type of the official classification of the International Cynological Federation.

For a long time the Pyrenean mastiff accompanied the flocks of sheep in their transhumant routes from the Aragonese Pyrenees to the Maestrazgo. Its main function was to guard and protect the flocks and their masters from the attacks of wolves, bears and thieves.

Hello Carlos.

Who is the character of your new avatar (He or She, LOL)?
In order not to run away from the thread's theme, I send you a pic of Golden Retriever puppies, my favorite breed.
Dogs are man's best friends, but I also love cats.

I also have a special affection for the native specie of Brazilian canid, the guaná wolf.
In the forest that covers the mountains of the caraça (that have peaks of 2.000 meters of high), locateds from 90 km of Belo Horizonte, live several of them.

Ah yes my avatar is Lady Cheddary

I had a Golden Retriever Diana and they are very good obedient and easy to educate. His father had been imported from Ireland to ride females in several breeding grounds in Spain. It is very important genetic control because I have seen other Golden bred by individuals or of unknown origin and were nervous. I felt sorry for his nobility, too good. They loose a lot of hair.

Can you post the photo of that Brazilian wolf? With the attachament it is not seen.

I think I said it once on a different thread.

Regardless of gender (♂ ♀), my Grandfather named all his hunting dogs Diana. :)

(Total Confusion for the dogs and the people) (y) lol
