Thanks Salento.
... about the MTA map Images, ....

I forgot to add, ... if on a PC, right click on the Map image and save as “blablabla.jpg” ...

you’re changing the extension from .py to .jpg

... it works on my PC and Laptop :)

Carlos/Duarte/Salento: Went ahead and got the Q for $10 for a month, much better and you can get more matches. Quick question, what is the minimum that MTA uses for it to be added to your match samples. Is it 3cm? The excel snip is just some ancient samples that I ran Q Matching, I used 1 CM as min segment size to be included and the ones highlighted in yellow are the ones >=3. I also have the MTA for Otzi vs the Q Matching for Otzi. Different Chromosomes and different Segment CM sizes between the two. I think I saw something similar for Salento's Otzi matches. Does MTA have a higher quality sample for Otzi or just a better program than the one at GEDMATCH?

@PT

All I know is that:

MTA claims that their Otzi sample quality score is 77 out of 100

GedMatch Otzi (T882519) scores about 50 to 60 out of 100 (I think)

GedMatch Kit T882519 has:
241.844 SNPs - all usable.

Compared to a Standard AncestryDNA Kit:
668.000 SNPs - usable 586.900 SNPs

Thanks that is good information. Thanks.

The MTA score of 77 is good. I looked at MTA site and can't find the minimum CM Segment cutoff. Do you know what it is? As I noted I have been going through and running Gedmatch Q matching, using 1 CM as cutoff (7 CM default is useless for this exercise as that that I think is when people are trying to get family trees done as even 7th/8th type cousin is about 10-13 CM segment sharing, I think??)

... by looking at the lowest cM of your Deep Dive samples, you’ll get an Idea of MTA cM starting range :)

... around 0.5 cM (I think)

 ... did I just find the Messapi mix ???

possibly Crete and Illyria (Wikipedia)

(... assuming that I’m partially Messapians)

probably

... It is also possible that the Messapi are the result of the merger between Cretes and, subsequently, Illyrians.

According to this, the Cretes came to Italy in the 3300 BC and Illyrians would have conquered them centuries later ...

Ok, thanks again. Hopefully MTA gets some of these earlier HG samples like La Brana (Kit M275683), Loschbour (F999918), Villabruna_WHG (M236020) and Bichon (M600205) etc to see what happens.

I get largest CM segment of 5.09 for Villabruna_HG, 4.22 for Loschbour_HG, 3.94 for Bichon and 1.75 for LaBrana. So if MTA is using 0.5 and assuming the SNP's meet their threshold, I may get some matches on those. Did you run those HG samples on GEDMATCH Q yet? If you did, I will go back in thread and check them.

Thanks Salento, that La Brana was M276583 (F999915 is also La Brana)? Interestingly, I get matches with the M276583 (it says La Brana WHG) and not the F999915? It seems one kit is in error?

on post #2846 you wrote “La Brana (Kit M275683)”

... now you correctly posted M276583 :)

M276583 (la Brana WHG)

Salento: Ok, thanks you get 2.07 on both. Hmm, I get M276583 to run but F999915 I get nothing? It's like an X-file, need Mulder and Scully to look into it.

New Deep Dive, I didn't know how to sink my teeth into the British Isles.

Now I'm going to sleep maybe tomorrow I looked at the Q as Palermo Trapani has done and so check La Braña, El Mirón (La Dama roja) Villabruna e.t.c.

Salento: Where did you get those Kit number for R1 (930 BC) [and others], is that in the supplements of the Antonio et al 2019 paper? Are they on one of the post in the Gedmatch thread 18 July 2017 (post 1) and last post 17 December 2019 (by Carlos, post 86)?

R1 is from Antonio 2019 (.bam to combined), as a matter of fact it was the only IA file accepted by GedMatch since it changed its upload rules, maybe Jovialis tried too.

The Collegno & Szolad # are on Eupedia (credit to Tomenable)

the CL23 in the link above is UU5731879, but I posted SZ4327468 (was in a file), but I get the same results.

Ok, got it. First time I have seen someone run some of those Roman Samples on GEDMATCH. To bad they are not all there. Will check out the Collegno/Szolad samples. Thanks again.

my complete R1 Q-Matching (Dec 2019)

Salento: Really good, those top 10 scores, all of them, indicate a strong confidence in the match! I think R1 is the oldest Iron_Age Roman.

My numbers are 26 total segments, 3.71 largest CM Segment, total CM 38.33. I need to check all my MTA matches to see what the minimum threshold for total segments is. I would think with 128 CM, R1 should already be in your MTA match.

Went looked at MTA more closely and it is Chromosome with a segment chain of at last 60 SNPs. First time I looked that closely at what seems to be the criteria they are using.

I get a much stronger score with SZ1 than R1.

R1 has been declining steadily, and has already passed the 100 mark in almost all of my Companies Raw-Data, and I rarely get a Deep Dive match with it after a new upload.

... as of now, SZ1 rules my Deep Dive results:
