Ratchetman: I wish there was a model that really had clear variables that can model WHG/EHG/CHG/EEF/Iran_Neo and other caucus ancient ancestries like Armenian Chalcolithic/Bronze Age. I get closer distances on the Ancient Armenian samples vs Ancient Iranian and Caucus Steppe Maykop type samples. But since Armenia sits North of Iran and borders it along with Turkey and sits between the Black and Caspian Sea, maybe that is the source of my Caucus type ancestry. Every calculator that I look at has different populations and variables, etc.
Wow a model for French with 20% East Eurasian. I find that model questionable. If there is East Asian in Europeans, I would think small amount, excluding the Finns and Estonians who do have as you say actual ENA ancestry. The languages they speak are related I think to North Asian languages. I went to MyDNA portal and ran some of there calculators, nice calculators but again nothing consistent in terms how researchers are measuring populations. Good site and nice oracles with it. For example, on the MDLP K11E calculator done by Vadim Verenich of the Magnus Ducatus Lituaniae Project, I get 41% Neolithic EEF, 23% EHG and only 10.8% WHG, in addition to other ancestries such as Basal Eurasian, Iran-Mesolithic. Well since the calculator is probably designed to measure Northern and Eastern Europeans more accurately, the weight for me for EHG to me is overstated, the Neolithic is understated, and if my HG ancestry, I would think is more WHG?
On the older Eurogenes DNA calculator, my major ancestry is 65% (Anatolian Farmer 25%+ Med Farmer 40%) EEF type ancestry and HG (Baltic 17%0 some Middle East Herder 16% and then some small East Asian and Oceania and East African pastoralist amounts, total < 2% (I generally ignore amounts < 1% for ancient ancestry and view it as noise). The Punt K10 measures my major ancestry as 49% (Neolithic) EEF type ancestry, and then 25% WHG and 21% CHG type ancestry but it does show some 2.5% East Asian. On the Eurogenes ANE I get 54% European Neolithic Farmer, then 35% WHG-UHG(unknown HG) and then 8% ANE and 2% ASE, which is consistent with your ENA theory also in Southern Europe. But since I am going to have less Steppe, not sure how much of that shows up in DNA test.
Still while I get different Percentages, all the calculators I have run shows that I have predominate EEF type ancestry, which is what has been shown in all the extant research on macro Italian DNA samples regardless of region (20 Political regions in modern Italy).
