Philip Calvert

George Calvert was the first to dream of a colony in America where Catholics and Protestants could prosper together. George had studied at Trinity College at Oxford and been knighted by King James I for good service as an advisor. Sir George Calvert became Secretary of State for the King. Having just converted to Catholicism, he was forced to resign from his job so the King gave him another title - First Baron of Baltimore, a town on the Irish coast.

Ancient Britain and Stonehenge

Stonehenge was built in Neolithic times (circa 2300 BC) and drew ailing pilgrims from around Europe for what they believed to be its healing properties, according to recent research. Pilgrims would wear amulets crafted using pieces of the rocks at the monument. One dig uncovered masses of fragments carved out of the bluestones which were used to create amulets. Stonehenge could be compared to Lourdes in France today. Many of the ancient skeletons found nearby seem to show signs of serious disease or injury and many show signs of coming from far away. The outer stones are what most people associate with the monument. There is also a competing theory that the temple was a meeting point between the land of the living and the dead. In either case, this massive monument would attract visitors from far and wide as archaeogenetics discovers.

My results between my Ancestry and 23andMe kits were different but only slightly. #4 and #5 were switched, and some of the closeness to each population is different. Everything else was the same:

1. Viking Icelandic + Frank (2.79, 3.341)
2. Gaul + Frank (3.169, 3.708)

imo the crazy “norms” portrayed on social media, and in the news in general, do not remotely represent and constitute the beliefs and the opinions of the vast majority of Americans.

Ooh, plague victim. I have a Dutch plague victim on my map. I also match all of the gladiators except for the Egyptian one, which makes sense if they were local-my grandmother's family, the Robinsons, comes from Yorkshire, and I have other lines leading to Yorkshire and neighboring Lancashire.

Salento, 11.62 is a great distance though. So your Top Match SZ36 is not your best fit.

Pax is right about the distance to that particular sample, 11.62 is fairly large. Though I'm sure, as you said ,we will all have different results when the samples are utilized. This particular calculator will have that happen, since they continuously update with new samples available. However, in regards to those samples from that "Leaked PCA"; we will still need to verify their identities, and the time-frame. I think it is important that we wait and be patient before investing so much in expectations.

TBH, I think leaked material, that is not officially verified is bad for our discourse. It serves more to create confusion, and misinformation.
