Many thanks Duarte of all this important DNA information. I am going to start at Caesar level, and I hope for a cheap upgrade later. I owe you a beer (or something else, tea coffee etc)

So if you are going to visit Finland some day, so we can start our meeting with two local words then. Cheers is Kippis in Finnish and Skål in Swedish (read Skol) (y) Btw, Finland is officially a bilingual country. Welcome :)

Thanks for sharing Ivar, nice to see new civilizations like Oesel.

You're welcome Jovialis. It feels really great, that I was able to give (by chance ) something new for you experts here.

Thank you Ivar.
You are too kind. I am sure that I would love to know your country of beautiful landscapes, high standard of living and a welcoming people. Thanks for tips of words of the local languages. Very useful for a traveler like me. I love to trip, inside and outside of Brazil. I am passionate about history and languages learning. I would definitely love to prove a Finnish beer and learn more about the culture of your beautiful country. I'm glad that what I said was helpful to you. You're always welcome :)

We two are Iberian brothers, dear Carlos. I always pray for the communion of the peoples of the Iberian Peninsula. All Iberians are genetic brothers. I see with concern the outbreak of separatist movements in Catalonia. These movements are meaningless. Spain has always been united in its rich, ancient and wonderful culture. Since the reconquest Iberia has a single and unbreakable heart. Hugs dear friend.

Certainly the environment has changed, evidently the images that will have been seen by t.v. they are very located in certain streets or very specific areas of Barcelona. It is an ethno-linguistic question, identity issues politically led by separatist politics. On the other hand it is a topic that already bores us in the rest of Spain, they are really suffocating themselves.

And in the meantime there is this:

... Comprehensive:

... Razib Khan| re: Rome. paper out in 1 month.

the results looked like this to me:

1) no difference between Etruscans and Latins

2) massive shift toward ‘Eastern’ affinity during the Imperial Period

3) shift ‘back’ after the Late Antique Period

Basically, I think it is in line with work which suggests large fractions of non-natives in *cities*. When cities declined this genetic imprint diminished and Medieval cities were repopulated from rural areas ...

If R. K. is right, These could easily be the results of an Ancient Roman.

You = Ancient Roman :

ePNexm3.jpg

If after 10s of 1000s of years, Neanderthal DNA is still inside of us, I say that many Europeans, but especially the Italians, still have strong genetic affinity/similarity (and Vice Versa) with:

Romulus (first King of Rome ~ 753 BC)
Mark Antony (great guy :cool-v: ~ 40 BC)
Vespasian (republican ~ 70 AD )
... and so on !
