Italouruguayan: Good results, seems like your results are consistent with Salento and my own. What part of Italy did your family immigrate to Uruguay from, if you don't mine me asking?

Cheers

Hello Palermo!
My paternal grandfather was born in Veneto, my paternal grandmother was of Ligurian origin, and my mother had a Neapolitan grand- grand father.

Regards!

Sent from my SM-G9600 using Eupedia Forum mobile app

Ok, thanks for the information. Interesting, so you have some ancestry from NW Italy, NE Italy and also South of Rome. Your getting similar results to Salento, whose family is from Puglia and mine from Sicily. Thanks again, best regards to you as well.

Salento: that is really neat, you share a similar/same mtdna Haplogroup with I3404! Give me a heads up when you hear when the Science show is coming on, I definitely want to check it out.

Duarte: I have always enjoyed you and Carlos's post and have noticed you two share genetic affinities. I agree it is quite interesting that Salento, Jovialis, and I share not only genetic affinities but also as Salento noted, we all share genetic affinity with many of the same Ancient DNA samples. As you also noted, Angela and Stuvane share genetic affinities as well.

It for the facts noted above that this site has really proved to me a great resource to meet people and discuss, but also as another Tool so to speak to corroborate DNA results in terms of genetic affinity with modern populations, Ancients, etc, etc. BTW, that was one impressive Comprehensive summary of your MyTrueancestry results. Kudos and well done.

Cheers, PT

I3404’s mtDNA and mine :) has a strong connection to Italy.

Salento: Wow, that is really close. So I3404 not only on the PCA plot you showed, but also mtdna, is very, very, close to modern Italians. If I am reading your report correctly, also Greeks as well, which once again shows the genetic affinity between Italians and Greeks.

Deep investigations:

I have been testing with the MTA Ydna but we will have to wait, at the moment I have found correspondence that I have made manually with the snps that present these two samples:

Paseíllos universitarios-Fuentenueva (Granada, Andalusia, Spain)Contact: Juan Manuel Jiménez Arenas, Isidro Jorge Toro MoyanoThe villa of the “Paseíllos universitarios” is located in the city of Granada. The earliestphase has a Late Roman chronology (3rd-5th centuries CE) featuring an horreum, silosand one torcularium (89), and is associated to a necropolis from which the individualsanalyzed in this study were sampled:

The modern population matches for me seems weird.

interesting :unsure::)
so this south italian traveller
by the way he was derived farther by open genomes to e-m84 cluster D ( this is one of the southern european branches of e-m84
and it defined by snp:

I find him interesting because of his mtDNA and you find him interesting because of his Y Haplogroup.

my father still has only one deep dive result from myancestry .............he has 293 snps with sample Scy301 ( Scythian ) ...........this sample is really a Thracian from the Getae group , which is on the black sea

All the SNP's come from only two chr...# 16 and 18

The Getae (/ˈdʒiːtiː, ˈɡiːtiː/ JEE-tee, GHEE-tee) or Gets (/dʒɛts, ɡɛts/ JETS, GHETS; Ancient Greek: Γέται, singular Γέτης) were several Thracian[1] tribes that once inhabited the regions to either side of the Lower Danube, in what is today northern Bulgaria and southern Romania. Both the singular form Get and plural Getae may be derived from a Greek exonym: the area was the hinterland of Greek colonies on the Black Sea coast, bringing the Getae into contact with the ancient Greeks from an early date. Although it is believed that the Getae were related to their westward neighbours, the Dacians, several scholars, especially in the Romanian historiography, posit that the Getae and the Dacians were the same people.
The Getae are sometimes confused with the Goths in works of early medieval authors.[52][53][54][55][56] This confusion is notably expanded on in works of Jordanes, himself of Gothic background, who transferred earlier historical narratives about the Getae to the Goths.[57] At the close of the 4th century AD, Claudian, court poet to the emperor Honorius and the patrician Stilicho, uses the ethnonym Getae to refer to the Visigoths.

I have a question for those of you who seem to be pretty smart about these matters. My closest Archaeogenetic match at mytrueancesstery.com is:

"Colonial American Pennsylvania (1700 AD) (4.989)."

These
are the remains of a European colonist found at Shohola creek, Indian Cabin Ridge, Pennsylvania, dated to 1634-1662 AD (GEDmatch kit DD7536671). This may be a Dutch ancestor of forebears of mine that lived in the area circa 1750. The remains were typed as I1a-Z73 and U4c1a - from "Ancient Human Parallel Lineages within North America Contributed to a Coastal Expansion" by C.L. Scheib, et al.

However, when I compare my autosomal DNA with this sample in GEDmatch I get no shared DNA segments.

How is this possible? And, what am I missing here?

Any idea who this man or woman was? A relative of mine also matches this person and their descendants.
