We all know that Y-DNA Haplogroup I originated in Europe, but we don't know exactly where. What is your take on this? I suppose somewhere north of the Black Sea, perhaps Ukraine!

Saw it myself today and didn't know if it was worth reading. Just skimmed a bit and it looks good, thanks!There is this paper, which at this point is a bit obsolete, for example M227's placement in the tree has been fleshed out better since this paper. In fact most of I-M170 subclades are now better understood thanks to NGS testing. But this paper is still worth the read!
