The Y-Chromosome is the "control gene" in males.

I have always postulated that nature doesn't make mistakes. It did not just allow the Y-chromosome to continue in male mammals just for fertility purposes and it most certainly didn't allow it to persist so that we can compare genome results and track our ancestors unnecessarily in the 21st century.

We also know, (whether we want to admit it or not), that there are patterns that can be seen amongst people who hold certain Y-chromosomes. They are incredibly telling, especially those that survived extreme population bottlenecks.

Now it looks like science is catching up to what always seemed glaringly obvious to me.
