Considering how fast mutations occur could it be possible for sub branches to branch off into further ones and creating an entirely new subclade. Much like R1a and R1b split thousands of years from haplogroup R1 basal.
Just wondering.

It's possible it existed at one point but like many lineages that have ever existed it died out. This probably applies to every haplogroup at some point.

People, please be careful where you post new threads.

There are different sections for a reason.

This did not belong in anthropology.

There are a few R1* individuals who could be grouped together to form new clades, such as R1c, R1d, etc, but these labels have not been created and assigned yet. Perhaps, there are too few of them to start a new clade, or maybe the individuals who could be grouped in such clades are living in areas currently undertested. If there are enough individuals to form these clades out of their SNPs, they are probably living in remote areas of North, West, or Central Asia.

I'm not sure if I follow..
But where does a thread as such belong to?

It belongs in the section about y haplogroups, which is where I moved it.
