OK, 23andme v5. I'm a bit more "matchy" than you to Toscana and North Italian (Bergamo?), but I'm half East Liguria/Tuscan, after all, and maybe more western shifted? My results using the v3 are worse, with again the K15 being worse than the K13.

You have more ancestry from Romagna, though, right? Mine is half Emilian. That might explain why you have closer numbers to Balkan people and I have closer numbers to Spaniards and Portuguese. You're always my closest, though. Emilia-Romagna strong! :)

Frankly I don't know it: for now it seems to me that the K13 oracle works by including only these Italian samples, but from the Iron Age. In the list of "Source" I don't see other samples of successive ages

I'd say rather convergent results with those of 23andme :)

@Angela,

You're right, this verifies that other calculators, in this case Dodecad K12b correctly puts me closer to the Iron Age sample 437, than Eurogenes.

For one thing, his calculators are all made to give users more East European, which throws everything off for Italians and Iberians.

If you can upload these ancient samples to the K12b Dodecad on Lukas' site, that would be GREAT!

An entire Ancient calculator on Dodecad K12b would be ideal for us, indeed. However, there is this odd error with the coordinates. Maybe mlukas can chime in for a solution.

Some good guy send me K13 Italian regional breakdown (for modern of course). Check it out.
http://vahaduo.genetics.ovh/k13-vahaduo.htm

Given that there's only 1 Ligurian sample, and it's from Genova, not eastern Liguria, I'd say this is pretty accurate as far as Emilia, Toscana, and Liguria are concerned. However, on the K13 and K15 regular I'm much closer to the North Italian sample, which is Bergamo, which is Lombardia. (See upthread) So, that doesn't make sense. I'm also much closer to the Piemonte sample on MDLP.

good for me

except I would have thought Trentino should be second ...........as my line heading north through veneto , hit the town of Fonzaso then deviated to the left ( trentino ) .....i am talking 16th century

..............75.6Veneto................18.8Friuli-VG..............5.6Bosniak_Sandzak

Bosniak Sandzak is from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raška_(region)

The name is derived from the name of the region's most important fort of Ras, which first appears in the 6th century sources as Arsa, recorded under that name in the work De aedificiis of Byzantine historian Procopius.[2] By the 10th century, the variant Ras became common name for the fort, as attested by the work De Administrando Imperio, written by Constantine Porphyrogenitus,[3] and also by the Byzantine seal of John, governor of Ras (c. 971–976).[4]

Do you have anything on these Bosnians samples?

Mine. Italian regions are inaccurate (no Campania). I guess it's trickier for "mixed" people.

It worked well for me and my parents, but my mother got Trentino at first, before Veneto, and she's Venetian in ancestry. My father and I got Veneto at first.

@TardisBlue
Yeah, afaik these Gedmatch Oracles don't work so well for mixed people. Commercial tests such 23andMe's seem to do a better job here.

Vahaduo Eurogenes K13 updated spreadsheet. My results.

Very cool.(y) I am a mixed man, as I always knew. Approximately 95% European (mainly Iberian) + approximately 5% non European (mainly SSA). Nice calculator because wrong would be if this fact was not shown in the "Mixed Mode Population Sharing". In the United States I would have to sit in the back seat of the buses.:LOL: (The laughing emoji is only valid if this rule no longer exists, because if it continues to exist, the laughing emoji must be replaced by a frightened emoji:petrified: and also by a thoughtful emoji:unsure: that asks himself: What society is this?).

Don't take me seriously. It's just a joke. I know this rule doesn't exist anymore in US and I love the big cosmopolitan cities of the United States like New York, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco. Whenever I can, I travel through these stops. Lately I have not gone there much because my time is short. :)

I have created the coordinates for the Iron Age Italian samples for Dodecad K12b.

All of the samples are close to Northern Italians, with the exception of R437, which is close to Southern Italians, and R850, which is close to Cretans. R475 is close to Italians at a very poor fit.
