that is when they started counting
they knew there were 365 days in a year, and sometimes a day more

the stone carvings are beautiful

the orientation of the long corridor is such that on sunrise of the shortest day the sunrays can penetrate the central chamber

there is a rectangular hole above the entrance allowing the sunrays to enter

It's indeed amazing, isn't it? :)

All done with none of our tools or added knowledge.

yes, amazing

some believe they used oxens, and I can't imagine they didn't

this menhir was erected 6,7 ka along the coast of Brittany

Grand_menhir_bris%C3%A9_d%27Er_Grah_01.JPG

it stood 20,6 meters tall and weighed 330 tons

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locmariaquer_megaliths

it fell and broke into 4 pieces ca 6 ka

these people were rather fishermen and shellfish collectors than farmers, but probably also held a few cattle

as you know, the megalithic Y-DNA was not G2a2, it were some specific subclades of I2, of which I2a1b was the most common
they had some 20 % WHG and 80 % EEF
their WHG component resembled most that of mesolithic western Iberia
