Exactly, big snake, but it's not too late if we're talking about mitigation.

It seems to me that willy nilly random testing is not effective. Just because you tested negative today does not mean that you will test negative tomorrow or the day after or the week after. Only test if you show symptoms or you have been in contact with a confirmed case even though you're not showing symptoms.

I think very many people in many countries have already had this virus , did not know about it and have lived though it

I want to see what results summer brings to Europe and winter to Australia

Our friends suspect that they had it at the end of January/early February. She's nurse ands taking care of a Chinese man that had the symptoms. She got it from him and her symptoms were more severe than her husbands. Of course it could have been just your garden variety pneumonia. I encouraged them to go get tested but they don't want to bother.

Well why I have the feeling that someone up there plays with our inteligence

    Today I read this,

    https://www.straitstimes.com/world/e...rman-institute

and I tend to believe him, something inside me tells me this is true,
BUT if this true, then why Wuhan, Korea, and now Italy stop raising their confirmed numbers?

This social distancing cannot last for more than a month. Otherwise the damage to the economy will be severe!

So what will happen after 15 days or a month? We will probably have to isolate the most vulnerable from the rest of us. How? Build temporary shelter with extreme isolation from the outside?

    New Coronavirus in China

I don't know if this newspaper’s article, dated March 14, has already been posted before in this thread by another member, since the topic is very extensive and I can't follow everything in real time. Anyway I'm posting and, in advance, I apologize if someone has already made this post:

New York Times on the necessity for masks.
    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/17/o...ace-masks.html

I think somebody was reading our posts. :)

    Always think for yourself people.

Are blood type "A" people more susceptible and have worse outcomes?

A study from Wuhan says that's perhaps the case, but need more widespread testing.

"Of 206 patients who had died from Covid-19 in Wuhan, 85 had type A blood, which was 63 per cent more than the 52 with type O. The pattern existed across different age and gender groups...

Blood types vary in a population. In the United States, about 44 per cent of the population is type O, while about 41 per cent is type A. In Wuhan, which has a population of about 11 million, type O is 32 per cent, while A is 34 per cent among healthy people. Among Covid-19 patients, it was about 38 and 25 per cent."

    https://www.scmp.com/news/china/soci...us-china-study

They didn't say anything about positive or negative so I guess it doesn't matter?

Would be interesting to see the paper.

    Of course, I'm type A.

I'm AB- guess I'm half at danger. Lol

Really sucks working for a doctor right now. Even if it is only for emergency cases in the office. They dont seem to have any concern for our staff and haven't shut down.

Like who the hell needs their wrist looked at for carpal tunnel at a time like this.

There was no link to the paper in the article. So, sorry, I don't know.

    This is new:
Paper published in 2007: "The presence of a large reservoirof SARS-CoV-like viruses in horseshoe bats, together withthe culture of eating exotic mammals in southern China, is a time bomb".

So we've been saying. It's not just bats, either; it's pangolins.

Christ, even cats can make you sick if you eat them. It wasn't some ugly racist stereotype. In Hong Kong the government had to come out and ban the eating of dogs and cats. Christ!

Meanwhile, I was selling my house, and two Chinese families said they weren't interested because for 1) There's a house above me on the hill, and 2)there's a tree directly across from my property. It was bad sheng wei.

I guess millions and millions of houses must have bad shen wei.

We all have our superstitions, but how many people wouldn't buy a house because they saw a black cat?
