    MyHeritage admixure

    MyHeritage has updated their admixture splits .................they run their results from ftdna labs in Utah USA, so I expect ftdna might follow suit.

    they have placed southern Italians with Greeks ...............some other company does this , but I cannot recall

    Torzio: I have had DNA testing done with Ancestry and National Geographic Geno project. Ancestry has enough reference populations that Italians from South/Sicily are distinguished from Greeks. National Geographic uses Italians from Tuscany as its base reference population for all 20 regions of modern Italy. My ancestors are all from Sicily (Western Trapani, Palermo and Agrigento). My first reference population is Italy and then Greece is my 2nd one from the results I got from National Geographic. So National Geographic clearly has models that distinguishes Italian-Tuscany reference Sample from their Greek Reference Sample.

    My Nat-Geno was first Italian then German ..............they where 2 years ahead of anyone else in finding my ydna branch marker.

    Ftdna has zero French and zero German for me .............that myOrigins must be the worst program I have seen...........every other company give me french, italian, german and british isles.

    Ancestry is rubbish.......every year I loose italian and gain french............I am now 47% french and 28% italian ( previous year I was 32% french and 37% italian )

    i wish i can upload my ftdna raw data again
    because they have done
    an update for example: greece in there method is greece+ south italy
    anyway i can't because it is israeli company who from some unknown reason to me don't allow there citizens to
    upload .....

    and azuro from this forum aka principe( anthrogenica ) who used to help and upload my raw data for me before
    ignore me now,
    what can i do
    but there report is good not the best but good .....
    i only think they should fix there meso-american component to use mixed population
    it could reflect iberian genes
    .....

    Torzio: Nat-Geno is where I got my Y-DNA and MtDNA markers. They document your 2 closest modern populations and I think look at DNA from 500 to 10,000 years ago. I get 71% Italian, 14% West-Med (which is Sardinia, Corsica, NW Coast of Italy into Southern France, etc). So I think that can reasonably be interpreted as 85% Italian. The other 15% is NW Europe 7% and Asia-Minor 8% which on Nat-Geno is Norhern Mid East to the Caucus region of Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, etc). Nat-Geno estimated Neanderthal at 1.4% and they are using the 2.1% as the upper limit based on recent findings. As for Ancestry, My Italian actually went up from 89% on the first estimate in early 2019 to 97% in the update from August 2019 with 3% Middle East (in Ancestry Egypt to Turkey is my Green region).

    I have read enough of your posts to value your opinion, do my Nat-Geno and Ancestry look pretty consistent to you. I am thinking about triangulating my results and doing 23 and Me since that will give my an autosomal test, Neanderthal admixture test and Y and Mtdna marker test.

    Torzio: This is your Geno Report. Have they updated your results. My report looks different. When did you do Geno. I just did it In December and there Sample size is now > 1 Million. The Tuscan Reference Sample % are much different now than what your report is showing. Here is what I got last month. It compares my 2 Reference Populations (Italy-Tuscany) and Greek (Not sure where in Greece) to my DNA. I would email them and ask them to provide you an update.     My ydna is T-CTS8862....which is correct
    And mtdna is H95a....also correct
    Since then my current markers are under my name
    I visut the site every 6 months.....but last visit they state they are closing and to download all my results

    My sister has the newer type since 2018 she is same as myself in mtdna

    Well that stinks. I know they are not taking anymore samples I think this June but they should give you and update. Even the data from the Tuscan Reference sample is different than what they had in 2014. On the other hand, good to see they got your Y-DNA and Mtdna markers correct since as I noted, I got my Ydna and Mtdna Haplogroups from them.

    Ok, got it, I have always tried to snip and post it in a JPEG and link it in. That seems to work quite well. Grazie Millie. The Reference population source populations you are showing are the same, Tuscan 67% Italy/Southern Europe, West Med, 9%, etc.
