Angela: Looking at your results, I think you have said your family is from Tuscany and Liguria? Is that correct, you have good distances with these ancient Sicilians and Sardinians, my best I think is 3% which is good, you have 2 < than that. I am wondering if what I have come to think is correct, and the Park Information at Segesta Trapani states this is that the Elymi were a Ligurian population and the Sicani maybe came from Iberia. Any thoughts?

Torzio: Yes, I see many here whose ancestors are from various regions having reasonable distances with these ancient Sardinian and Sicilian samples. To me, at least with respect to the Sicilian samples, it is consistent with the hypothesis that the Elymi were related to the Ligures, whose territory included modern Liguria and parts of Piedmont South of the Po River and NW Tuscany. I have said this before in other posts but I spend an entire day in Segesta last summer at the Archaeological park there and that was the what all the official park literature and Brochures indicated was the most probably origin of the Elymi people. I purchased one, nice photos and good write up about Segesta and the Elymi.

Once again, thanks for the response and thanks to Jovialis again for putting together the sample coordinates.

Ligures lands changed a lot in history, so it depends on the time in question...........I have read that the , Ligures and Elymi are related from ancient times, but also related with southern france from rhone river to Italy, this was also Ligures.............then there is the story of Corsica .......what was it it ancient times excluding greek and etruscan settlements or more modern the genoese mix

I added the recent new data provided by Jovialis and rest of Eupedia team (Ancient Sardinian and Sicilian samples) to the other ancient samples K12b dodecad spreadsheet that I ran on my personal computer (I do not mean that I edited the actual K12 spreadsheet). Distances of 0.568 using 0.25x to 2.1 sing 2x. R52 and R56 continue to be the leaders using 2x for every estimation I have run. Anyway, hope everyone is doing well during what is becoming more and more a total lock-down. Cheers.
